Food For His Children Rescuing Tanzanian children from extreme poverty so they can become all God created them to be.

Since 2008, Food for His Children (FFHC) has provided Christ centered community development and humanitarian services to families and communities in rural Karatu, Tanzania, targeting those with income below $1 per day. Our vision is to eradicate extreme poverty so that children and families have food to eat, medical care, education and the ability to work towards their dreams and that families and

communities can become all God created them to be. We desire to see families and communities able to sustain themselves without relying on outside resources. We do this by providing a micro loan of a dairy goat, pastoral care, faith-based training in entrepreneurship, animal husbandry, agriculture, health, environment, leadership, and savings; one on one case management and coaching, goal planning, and veterinary care services. Food for His Children works in over 40 sub villages in Karatu District serving almost 400 families. Through this ministry, individuals and entire communities are transformed.

Joyce is a mother, a farmer, and a woman who decided to bet on herself.

After making the courageous decision to build a life of her own for her and her child, she found her footing in farming, working a two acre plot where she grows pigeon peas, maize, and beans for both her family's table and for income.

When Joyce heard about Food for His Children through friends in her community, she joined the program. And now she has a dream. She wants to start a dairy goat project, a sustainable source of income that would help her stand on her own and build something lasting for her child.
That dream is within reach.

Happy Fathers Day from Karatu, Tanzania!!

Today we are celebrating all of the fathers, near and far. We celebrate the men who show up every day for their families, who tend their gardens, care for their goats, and build something worth passing down, who hold their children close and work hard so that the next generation has more than they did.

Fatherhood looks the same the world over. It is love in work clothes. It is a sacrifice that rarely gets named. It is a hand on a shoulder that says I am here, I am not going anywhere, and I believe in what we are building together.

To every father across the globe, to every father reading this today, and to those who carry the memory of a father they miss, we see you. We honor you. And we are grateful for the ways you love your families well.

When our field officer, Ayub, visited two families in the program recently, he was not quite prepared for what he found.

Two single mothers. Two thriving farms. Rows of maize standing tall and strong in the red soil of Tanzania. Crops planted in straight lines with proper spacing, fertilized with manure from their goats, and protected with care and intention. These fields did not happen by accident. They are the result of hard work, excellent training, and a quiet determination that refuses to quit.

What struck Ayub most was not just the crops. It was the example these two women are setting for everyone around them. Their neighbors are watching. Their children are watching. And what everyone sees is what happens when a woman is given the right tools and gets to work.

Today is the International Day of the African Child, and we want you to meet two of our favorites.
These are the Tiyesi family children in Kilimamoja, Tanzania. When our field officer Aneth visited recently, the visit was quickly met with two smiling faces and plenty of goat related stories! The boys were eager to talk about their family's dairy goat and how they help feed and care for it every day. They enjoy watching their goat grow. And of course they love the milk it provides.

What Aneth saw in these two wasn't just happiness. It was confidence. Responsibility. A sense of pride that comes from being part of something that is working.

That is what a goat does for a family. And that is what a Family Partnership does for kids like these two little ones.

We would like to introduce you to our friend Chrisenta. She recently had a visit from Anatoly, one of our field officers. Anatoly has nicknamed her "the covenant woman", and once you hear her story, you will understand why.

Chrisenta is a mother, a farmer, and a woman who simply refuses to quit. With training in entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, and modern animal husbandry from Food for His Children, she has built not one, not two, but three thriving projects from the ground up. Healthy dairy goats. A strong kitchen garden that generates income. A stable chicken project. Each one a small step. Together they are changing the trajectory of her family's life.

Today is World Food Safety Day, and our team in Karatu, Tanzania is inviting you to pull up a chair.

In this video, one of our field officers takes you along as a family prepares lunch. Watch as fresh greens and vegetables, straight from a kitchen garden are gathered, washed and prepared. Then comes delicious ugali, a staple made from maize flour and water, stirred continuously until thick and perfectly smooth. A helping of beans rounds out the meal. And of course before anyone eats, hands are washed and who can forget the goat milk! Finally, everyone gathers to chat and share a meal.

This is food safety lived out every single day. A kitchen garden. Clean hands. Fresh milk from healthy goats. Simple practices that protect families and nourish communities.

This is what Food For His Children walks alongside. Not just goats and gardens, but the whole life of a family.

In less than two weeks, a team of six will board a plane and head to Karatu, Tanzania.

They are friends, and everyday people who said yes to God’s call and will walk alongside Food For His Children families. They will share meals, pray together, and witness firsthand what it looks like when hope takes root in red clay soil.

What are we asking from you? It's simple...we are asking you to pray for them.

Pray for safe travels, open hearts, and meaningful connections. Pray for the families in Karatu who will welcome them. Pray that what they see and experience comes home with them and spreads far beyond their own lives.

At Food for His Children, we believe caring for the earth and caring for people are the same calling.

At our Farm and Innovation Center in Karatu, Tanzania, that belief is growing. Literally.
Our team is cultivating broccoli using eco-friendly practices and innovative growing techniques that work with the land rather than against it. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, this crop is not just feeding families. It is showing an entire community what sustainable, farm to table agriculture can look like when you put people and the planet first.

On World Environment Day, we are reminded that stewardship of creation is not a modern idea. It is as old as the garden itself. And in Karatu, it is alive and thriving.

For more than 30 years, Elizabeth has faced every single day with courage.

When Elizabeth was young, polio changed the course of her life. What followed were decades of physical challenges and a world that sometimes underestimates people who look different than what it expects. But Elizabeth never underestimated herself. She kept showing up, she kept moving forward, working towards building a life that speaks hope to the next generation.

When Food for His Children came alongside her, something shifted. Not because she needed rescuing. But because every person deserves a community that sees them and walks with them.
