ONE more surprise, that's it!
Look at the "before" video in the comments and tell me you would have said no! I assumed this girl was down south, and I was headed down anyway so I figured I could grab her on my way home. Turns out she is in KOSOVO, and rescuers have been trying so hard to find a group here to take her. Welp... it's us! Sadie is 12 years old and mostly blind, so we are looking for a very special adopter to help keep her safe and comfortable. We will obviously have to work together for her care- I'm quite sure that eye needs to come out, and we'd like to have her spayed if possible. She is coming Saturday and I'd love to have someone lined up for her so she can settle right in. She sounds like an absolute doll, here are some notes from her foster in Kosovo:
🙂I would say house trained - she knows to go on the Balcony here - I have a towel down and she uses it.
🙂Loves and very happy to ride in the dog pushchair It’s her safe place.
🙂 I would say does not feel safe outside with other dogs particularly dogs barking at her. She wants to hide. She climbs into planters or under brambles.
She has been okay with Lucy (Pug) in the apartment, they do touch noses.
Worried of people or dogs will take her food.
🙂 She doesn’t bark and ignores all the dogs barking around here, and there is a lot of that.
Does not like storms/thunder ⛈️ and needs a safe space. She is okay in her safe place.
😢 Her sight is bad but having said that, she walks around the apartment without running into things. When she looks for me she can’t see for a few feet but seems to recognise me when she is close.
😳 She has a sensitive tummy. It’s hard, almost impossible to get her to eat kibble dog food.
I have been cooking for her. Rice, mince, chicken breast and frozen vegetables. I cook a big pot an freeze several containers for her. I soak kibble in Camomile tea till they are soft and out then I mix them in with the rice meal. She often pick the kibble out leaves them.
That’s my biggest concern in a shelter situation- she won’t eat the dry food or get diarrhoea. She needs a mum.😔
Please share to help Sadie find her forever home in America! Also please feel free to share with other rescues so they can help us network for her.
