Things I’ve Learned From Over 30 Years of Marriage
• Love is a choice you make daily, it’s not just a feeling because sometimes those feelings aren’t there.
• Pray together, especially when life feels hard.
• Grace matters more than being right.
• Forgiveness keeps small hurts from becoming deep wounds.
• Apologize first, even if you think the other person should.
• God must remain at the center, not just in the background
• Seasons change—learn to grow together through each one.
• Communication builds connection; silence builds distance.
Protect your marriage from distractions, busyness and the children.
• Laugh together and often. Joy strengthens the journey.
• Cheer each other on through dreams, struggles, and growth.
Keep dating each other. My husband says he is always learning new things about me.
30 plus years later, I’ve learned that a God-honoring marriage isn’t built on perfection—it’s built on commitment, grace, forgiveness, and keeping Christ at the center of it all.
