Next week, we’re excited to celebrate 17 outstanding local educators at the Harry T. Wilks Hamilton Celebrates Education event!

This annual celebration is an opportunity to recognize the hard work, dedication, and lasting impact our educators have on students, schools, and our community. We look forward to honoring this year’s Educators of Excellence!

The Hamilton Community Foundation will recognize 17 local Hamilton teachers for their leadership and positive influence on students at the 24th annual Harry T. Wilks Hamilton Celebrates Education event on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Hamilton.

Tracy, our Director of Community Impact, has been out and about in the community visiting nonprofits!

The spotlight is on more than just the stage at Rise Up Performing Arts! Through five youth musical theatre productions each year, the organization gives approximately 150 young performers the opportunity to build their skills in acting, singing, dancing, and live performance, while entertaining audiences totaling nearly 4,800 people.

But the impact goes far beyond the final curtain call. Rise Up Performing Arts uses the power of theatre to help young people discover their creativity, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and learn the importance of teamwork, respect, integrity, and perseverance. It's about helping young performers grow both on and off the stage.

We had some special visitors at the Lane-Hooven House!

The Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Hamilton class stopped by to learn more about the Community Foundation and get a little history lesson on the wonderful octagon we get to call our office!

We even had a familiar face in the group! Our very own Catherine is part of this year’s Leadership Hamilton class!

Every student deserves a place to play, and Talawanda Middle School is making that possible! 💙

When Intervention Specialist Erin Fitzgerald recognized that some students with complex needs weren't able to enjoy recess alongside their classmates, she set out to change that. Today, thanks to a new inclusive playground, students of all abilities can play, explore, and enjoy recess together in ways that weren't possible before!

This project was made possible through a generous anonymous gift of $70,000 facilitated by HCF, a $70,000 grant from the Oxford Community Foundation, and additional community donations.

What a wonderful example of how generosity can bring students together, break down barriers, and make sure everyone has a place to belong! Thank you to the Oxford Free Press for writing and sharing this story!

“My students do have complex needs, so (they’re) in wheelchairs, (they’re) limited verbal(ly) or using communication devices, and they can kind of be out there with same-age peers playing and having fun, as well as getting those sensory needs (met).”

Yesterday, our team enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Operation Pumpkin, soaking up the sunshine and celebrating all the things that make our community special.

The festival is open today from 11-10 and tomorrow 11-5!

Setup is in full swing for Operation Pumpkin, and downtown Hamilton is getting ready to welcome everyone for the largest fall festival in our region! 🎃

Last week, Marie attended the Butler Tech Bioscience Center College, Career, and Military Fair, where she connected with students and shared more about the Community Foundation, our scholarship program, and the opportunities available to support their next steps after graduation.

We had so much fun stepping back in time at Celebrating Self: One City, One Book – A Founding Mother at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts today!

Seeing familiar faces model Revolutionary-era fashion in a runway show directed by CCM costume shop manager and professor Clara Jean Kelly was such a fun way to bring history to life!
