🎬🎻 BIG NEWS: Woody & Buzz will be Visiting Hamilton!

With Toy Story 5 having just premiered in theaters, we couldn't think of a better moment to bring the film that started it all back to the big screen — this time with the Butler Philharmonic performing the entire score live.

Join us at RiversEdge Amphitheater for a free public screening of Disney and Pixar's Toy Story in Concert. This special event celebrates both the Butler Philharmonic 's and the Hamilton Community Foundation's 75th anniversaries — two organizations that have spent generations bringing this community together, now joining forces for a night the whole family will remember.

Bring a blanket, bring the kids, and get ready to see Woody, Buzz, and the whole gang like never before.

Congratulations to Shooters of Hamilton, the 2025 HAHA Fantasy Football League champions! Their first-place finish earned support for Serve City, while Nick & Norm’s took second for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and The Eyrie finished third for YMCA Central Hamilton. Together, the top three teams presented $2,400 to their nonprofit partners!

Now, the league is preparing to kick off its fourth and largest season yet. This year, 14 local restaurants and bars will each play on behalf of a nonprofit organization, giving every matchup a little more meaning.

Best of luck to all 14 teams as the new season begins with draft night at Municipal Brew Works!

Some exciting changes are taking shape at The Open Door Food Pantry this week through The Dignity Project! The space already looks completely transformed, but Leadership Hamilton Class 34 isn’t finished yet! There are still many improvements ahead as the class works to create a more welcoming and dignified space for everyone who visits the pantry.

A huge thank-you to everyone who has supported this project through donations of supplies, paint, and funding. We could not make this transformation possible without your generosity!

Join the Fitton Center for Creative Arts tomorrow, August 29th, for Voices of the Soul of Black Folks, a free community celebration featuring gallery tours, a luncheon, artist talks, poetry, dance, music, and a story quilt workshop.

The event runs from 12:30 to 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Bring the family and experience an afternoon celebrating creativity, innovation, leadership, and community.

We loved seeing Jim Blount’s incredible life and legacy highlighted in this recent Journal-News article. Jim’s impact on Hamilton was far-reaching, and we are grateful that part of his story is connected to the Hamilton Community Foundation. A wonderful tribute to someone who gave so much to our community.

James L. “Jim” Blount was a man who never stopped writing, nor did he ever cease in his efforts to share local history, move people from place to place within Butler County, teach the next generation, advocate for progress, and support Cincinnati’s sports teams.

Looking for something fun to do tonight?

Rooted Studio is hosting Poems for Trees tonight from 6:30–7:30 p.m., an evening of tree-inspired meditation, writing, and poetry led by Julia Orquera Bianco and Bobby Minelli of Household Books.

Participants will reflect on memories, interactions, and imaginings of trees, create their own short poems, and even work together on a collective poem to share at the end of the evening.

A beautiful way to slow down, get creative, and connect with nature and community. 🌿
