🚨 NEW HAVEN -

They want to give an automatic 3-YEAR contract WITHOUT showing us a written evaluation? Nah.

Superintendent Dr. Madeline Negron's contract started July 2023 + 1-yr extension = ends June 30, 2027. Board met 1hr 20min in executive session Oct 20. No written evaluation = NO FOIA record. That's not transparency.

FACT CHECK:

📋 CGS 10-157(a): Superintendent is CEO of entire district - $252M budget, ALL staff, ALL buildings

⚖️ CGS 1-210: Written evaluation IS a public record

❌ CGS 10-151c teacher exemption does NOT apply to Supt

GENERAL ED — AFTER 1ST 9 WEEKS 📚 Day 1 Baseline is DONE. Now what?
1) Report card under ESSA = look past grades. Check attendance, universal screening, Tier 1/2/3 + exact skill gap.
2) Below benchmark? School must adjust MTSS/RTI. RTI CANNOT delay evaluation. Under IDEA Child Find 34 CFR 300.111 — you can request eval in writing ANYTIME. You don't have to wait.
3) Email this week: "Please provide in writing: current Tier, baseline vs current score, intervention minutes actually given, and next 9-week plan." If flat growth — ask for change or evaluation.
This is Gen Ed rights — for ALL kids.
