Memorial Day Ceremonies

Please join us as we honor and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country this Memorial Day.

Volunteers are also needed to assist with placing and removing flags at the Halstead Cemetery:
Flag Placement — 6:00 AM
Flag Removal — 5:00 PM

Your help and participation are greatly appreciated as we come together to honor our veterans and fallen heroes.

What a fun evening at the Kansas Learning Center For Health Summer Kickoff! 💙

We loved seeing so many kids stop by the HCF booth to decorate their coin banks. Throughout the summer, kids are encouraged to fill their banks with spare change and return them for a treat on Friday, July 17 during Youth Giving Day as part of our 12 Days of Christmas in July campaign.

Didn’t get a bank last night? We still have extras available! Reach out or stop by the HCF office to pick one up and join the fun.

We can’t wait to see the impact Halstead’s youngest philanthropists will make in our community this summer!

Stop by our booth Wednesday to celebrate the beginning of summer and decorate a special coin bank! Kids are encouraged to fill their banks with spare change throughout the next few months, then return them during our 12 Days of Christmas in July Youth Giving Day to help make a difference right here in our community.

HCF GRANT DOLLARS AT WORK IN HALSTEAD

A welcoming space makes a lasting impression, and with support from an HCF grant, the Kansas Learning Center For Health is working to enhance its landscaping and outdoor areas to better serve thousands of visitors each year.

It’s a meaningful improvement in the heart of our community, and it's the kind of impact made possible through our annual grant program. Access to fresh, nutritious food is essential to health and wellness, and with support from a 2025 HCF grant, the Halstead First United Methodist Church is helping expand that access locally by regularly offering perishable food vouchers in their Blessing Box.

It’s a great example of neighbors helping neighbors, and it's the kind of impact made possible through our annual grant program. Join us Saturday, May 16th for the Brick Street Classic golf tournament and support both the Halstead Chamber of Commerce and Wedgewood Golf Course - two organizations that help keep our local economy and quality of life strong.

HCF GRANT DOLLARS AT WORK IN HALSTEAD

Each holiday season, members of the American Legion Auxiliary Ruth-Wilson Post #231 thoughtfully place wreaths on the graves of local veterans as part of the Wreaths Across America program.

With support from an HCF grant, the Auxiliary was able to build much-needed wreath supports, allowing them to honor even more of the nearly 750 veterans laid to rest in Halstead Cemetery. They are also using HCF grant funds to help enhance and preserve the Civil War Memorial located at the cemetery.

These are simple but powerful ways to remember those who served, and it's the kind of impact made possible through our annual grant program.
