Providing quality Christian education to children with unique learning challenges

A day of exploring, learning, and making memories! 🌿💙

Our Crossroads classroom recently enjoyed a field trip to Boerner Botanical Gardens! From exploring the beautiful gardens to spending time together outside the classroom, it was a great opportunity to experience something new.

Students even got involved in preparing for the day with a little grocery shopping and lunch packing. Sometimes the best learning experiences happen beyond the classroom walls.

A huge THANK YOU to Gretchen.Willis.Photography for the incredible patience, kindness, and understanding she showed our students during picture day!

For some of our students, new faces, unfamiliar situations, and having their picture taken can bring a lot of anxiety. Gretchen met each student where they were, giving them the time, space, and encouragement they needed to feel comfortable. She even spent an extra 20 minutes working with just one student! Thanks to her compassion and flexibility, nearly every student was able to have their picture taken.

If you're looking for a photographer who goes above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and valued, we can't say enough good things about Gretchen!

Yes, there’s learning. And yes, there’s work to do.
But there’s also a lot of laughing, being ourselves, and enjoying the people we get to spend our days with. 😄
School is allowed to be fun, too!

Falling into a busy season at Journeys 🍂

“Around Here” was the theme of the fall appeal letter you may have received recently. I’ve been thinking a lot about what those words really mean for our students and for the community we have built at Journeys. Around here, students are learning to accept themselves—their abilities, their c...

What a day! 🍻💙
A huge thank you to everyone who made Bags, B**r & Bites such a great event!
To our volunteers who gave their time, our sponsors and donors who generously supported the event, and everyone who came out to toss some bags, enjoy the food and drinks, take a chance on the raffles, and spend the evening with us - thank you.
Events like this are only possible because of a community that continues to show up for Journeys Lutheran School and our students.
We’re so grateful you were part of it. Until next year! 🎉

We’re getting closer to Siebert Lutheran Foundation’s 7th Annual Collaborators’ Event, happening right here at Journeys next Thursday.

We’re especially excited for a group of our students to take part as student grantmakers, giving them the opportunity to learn about thoughtful giving, consider where resources can make an impact, and experience the power of generosity firsthand. 💙

We’re honored to host this special event and look forward to welcoming the Siebert Lutheran Foundation and fellow collaborators to Journeys!

Some days, you’re ready to jump right in. Other days, you might need a reset.
A little movement. A change of pace. A chance to regroup before getting back to it.
Around here, we know that can be part of learning, too. 💙

From basketball and STEM to cooking, art, music, and serving others, our electives program gives students opportunities to explore new interests, discover their strengths, and experience success in their own ways.

Our Fall Appeal is an invitation to help us continue providing meaningful opportunities like these.
We hope you'll take a moment to read our letter and consider supporting the electives program and the experiences it brings to our students. Thank you for your support!

Sometimes it happens on the job.
In the community.
While figuring something out for yourself.
Or while doing something for the very first time.
Because some of the best lessons are the ones you actually get to live. 💙
