Its almost Fair time! Below are some reminders of dates and times of upcoming events!
I hope you all have your fair projects completed—or almost completed! You still have a few days to finish up, and I am excited to see everyone’s work! Last year, I was truly amazed by the quality of the products you brought to the fair, and I know this year will be just as impressive!
Fair Reminders
Tuesday, September 8
We will begin setting up at 1:00 p.m. It shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours if everything goes as smoothly as last year. We will meet about the Fall organizational meeting after setup is complete.
Entries will be accepted from 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, September 9
Entries will be accepted from 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Thursday, September 10
Judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. You are welcome to watch the judging.
After judging, we will meet back at the office at 1 pm to discuss and determine next year’s fair exhibit list.
The 4-H kids are humbly asking for OHCE members’ support by providing 2 pies and 2 dozen brownies or Rice Krispie treats.
Please cut and individually wrap the brownies and Rice Krispie treats in 3x3-inch squares. These can be brought with you when you come to work your Country Store shift.
Country Store Information
As a reminder, our three groups share duties at both our booth and the Country Store. Please bring your baked goods or craft items for the Country Store with you during your scheduled shift. Labels will be available at the booth.
Country Store Work Schedule:
September 10 | 5:00–9:00 p.m. — Early Risers
September 11 | 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. — True Blue
September 11 | 4:00–9:00 p.m. — Adams Homemakers
September 12 | 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. — Early Risers
September 12 | 2:00–6:00 p.m. — True Blue
*I would also like to offer some help with getting your exhibits to the Activity Center. I will have a wagon available at the Activity Center on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you need help getting your exhibits—or anything else—inside, please call or text me, and I will meet you at your car! My cell number is 580-461-7149.
📅 Looking Ahead
Our OHCE Fall Organizational Meeting is scheduled for October 3, with Early Risers hosting. We will talk more about this at the fair after we get everything set up.
On another note, Sheila and I are planning to help host a Crafting Across the County event for Early Risers. We are currently looking at dates and will get one set as soon as possible!
And finally, Early Risers have set their Appetite Adventure for October 20. We will be heading to Braum’s—yummy! 😊
