Real talk time: I have only been an advocate for 7 yrs and have lived for over 40 years and some of the things we hear in our job are things that you only think happen on TV but they are so real. If you haven't watched any of the reality shows that tell real stories about dating, stalking, s*xual assault you should because that is the real world, people like that actually exist, those are the things that real survivors and victims have been through or are going through. Sure some might be outlandish and unbelievable but honestly I'm here to tell you they are true. Just like this woman's story who would of never known what was happening to her had she not woken up. Northwest Domestic Crisis Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and community-minded individual to join our team as a Primary Latina Advocate for our Guymon Satellite office!
If you have a heart for service, empowerment, and making a tangible difference in the lives of survivors, we want to hear from you.
💼 About the Role
As a Primary Advocate, you will walk alongside survivors of domestic violence and s*xual assault, offering unwavering support, representation, and crisis intervention. You will be an advocate first and foremost.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Direct Advocacy: Provide crisis line coverage, client intakes, safety planning, individual support, and emergency "on-call" assistance.
• Group Support: Direct bi-weekly, positive, and supportive group sessions for survivors.
• Court Advocacy: Assist clients with understanding, obtaining, and navigating Emergency Protective Orders (EPOs).
• Community Connection: Provide vital client transportation and stay connected with local social service agencies to maximize client resources.
• Data & Documentation: Efficiently manage client records and reports using our database system (Apricot).
🚗 Requirements & Qualifications
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to participate in emergency "on-call" rotations (including hospital and s*xual assault calls).
• A willingness to engage in continuous learning and annual training hours.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly valued for this role to best serve our diverse community.
