National Forest Products Week celebrates the essential role forest play in our environment and economy. The third Sunday in October ushers in events focused on several topics.

When you're wide awake at 4am from jet lag you get up and hike through the city to Mrs. Macquarie's park to see the sun rise on the Sydney Opera House, right?

The sky and clouds were always beautiful, the air was cool, and the sight-seeing was incredible

We left Sunday the 6th, flew 17 hours over the Pacific Ocean, and made it to Sydney Wednesday morning!

The 134th Annual Hoo-Hoo International convention is in the books and one to be remembered! Most of us showed up early to have time to explore, shop, and hang out with Hoo-Hoo brothers and sisters before business started. But even between board meetings and the General Business Session we had a great time during tea breaks, lunch, and dinner. Many presentations and awards were given as we got to celebrate the success of many clubs, members, and officers!

My favorite part during convention week, aside from sightseeing, was meeting many members whose name I see often but have never met! One of the beautiful things about this organization is how members from all over the world have so much in common and can learn from each other. My husband, for example, met Brad Barr who lives in Western Australia and they are practically brothers from another mother! They do the same thing, deal with the same issues, and even shared ideas that they can take back home. We bonded with the other Leschenaultia members too, S9 Greg Meachem and Peter Beatty (Go Fre!). I absolutely LOVED sitting at high tea with Anna Beltgens, Susan Lamari, Gianna Swaddling, Angela Gattone, and getting to know them 🩷 I learned that Mike Clothier has a real talent for old sitcom theme songs 😂 (so many memories and so much laughter I could keep going!)

My favorite part after the convention was definitely Sugar Rays Tropical Fun Bus Comedy Tour with Ray Lamari 🚍 I will never forget this week with Ray, Dave, Lisa, & Mandi Siwek, Scarlett Beckett, and Jordan Beckett...it was constant laughter and tears when I held a koala 😂 if it weren't for HooHoo I would have never had this amazing experience
