Help Build a Safe Haven for Senior & Special-Needs Rescues at Project Nuka
Every dog deserves a warm bed, gentle hands, and a safe place to heal—especially in their golden years or when life has handed them extra physical hurdles.
At The Norma “Nuka” Cordova Animal Sanctuary (Project Nuka), a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit in Limestone County, Texas, our mission is simple: provide lifelong sanctuary, dignity, and specialized care to the abandoned, senior, and medically vulnerable dogs who need us most. From three-legged fighters learning to run again to elderly souls needing quiet comfort and orthopedic bedding, we give them a soft place to land.
Right now, our biggest obstacle isn’t love or commitment—it’s space and climate-controlled shelter.
Central Texas weather is relentless. Between triple-digit summer heatwaves and bitter winter freezes, our most fragile residents cannot thrive in temporary setups. To expand our intake and give our high-needs dogs the dedicated, stress-free housing they deserve, we are raising funds to purchase and fully build out a dedicated, climate-controlled kennel building.
What We Are Building
We are investing in a durable, permanent portable building that will serve as our core medical and sanctuary recovery suite. We aren’t just putting up four walls—we are engineering a space built specifically for high-maintenance, disabled, and elderly rescues:
The Shell:
A heavy-duty, professionally delivered building (8x16 or 12x24) to expand our capacity safely.
Full Climate Control:
A dedicated heating and air conditioning system to protect seniors with arthritis, respiratory issues, and heat vulnerability year-round.
Sanctuary-Grade Finishes:
Fully insulated walls faced with hygienic, waterproof FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) panels and seamless commercial flooring. This ensures every surface can be completely washed down and disinfected, keeping our dogs healthy and safe from bacteria.
Safe, Accessible Layout: Low-threshold entryways and non-slip surfaces designed specifically for tripod dogs, mobility-impaired seniors, and pups recovering from injuries.
How Your Donation Directly Helps
Because we do our own construction and finish-out labor, 100% of your tax-deductible contribution goes directly toward building materials and equipment.
$25 covers animal-safe sanitary caulking, trim, and weatherproofing seals.
$50 supplies a sheet of waterproof FRP wall paneling to keep suites clean and disease-free.
$100 covers specialized R-15 thermal insulation to shield a suite from extreme Texas heat.
$250 funds non-slip, commercial-grade safety flooring for mobility-impaired dogs.
$500 sponsors the high-efficiency AC/heater unit keeping our vulnerable seniors comfortable 24/7.
$1,000+ serves as a foundational building sponsor, helping secure the physical structure itself.
Be Part of Their Soft Landing
The dogs who come through our gates have often lived through neglect, trauma, or the loss of the only family they ever knew. Many were running out of time simply because they were "too old" or needed extra medical care.
At Project Nuka, we believe their lives are just as precious today as the day they were born.
Whether you can give $10, sponsor a component of the build, or simply share this campaign with fellow animal lovers, you are directly laying the floorboards and raising the walls of a sanctuary that will protect vulnerable dogs for years to come.
Thank you for believing in second chances, honoring Norma’s legacy, and standing with our pack.
With gratitude,
The Project Nuka Pack
