Embarras River Basin Agency The Embarras River Basin Agency, Inc. is dedicated to serving the needs of at-risk, low-income individuals and families.

We proudly assist Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland Counties. Chartered in 1965, the Embarras River Basin Agency, Inc. is an Illinois Not for Profit 501(c)(3) Corporation dedicated to providing services to address the needs of the low-income communities in the nine county area served by the Agency. ERBA is a Community Action Agency organized to admi

nister grants and other programming for the target population of low-income citizens of all ages. ERBA provides services and administers grants for the following counties: Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland. ERBA is governed by a Board of Directors composed of Public Officials, Low Income Representatives, and Representatives of the Private Sector. The Board strives in its endeavors to promote the interest of the communities in which ERBA is operating, with an emphasis on empowering low-income individuals to achieve self-sufficiency.

Charleston - ERBA Head Start Openings:

Head Start Teacher Aide in Charleston- Full-time
-Will be assisting teacher and other staff in the classroom. 2-year Early Childhood degree preferred. Experience working with preschool children preferred.

Classroom Aide/Bus Aide in Charleston- Full-time
-Will work collaboratively with teaching staff to assist children who need accommodations and in the classroom. This person will ride the bus to assist with pick up and delivery of children to designated locations, assumes responsibility for the children’s safety on the bus.

High-School Diploma or GED is required for all positions.
All Head Start positions start at $15.70 an hour. Teacher and Teacher Aide starting pay is based on education, $15.70-$23.05
Full Time Employment Benefits include:
Paid time off, 401K, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Wellness Program. Options for Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Supplemental Life Insurance, Short Term Disability and Aflac.

ERBA's main goal has always been to serve local communities in a way that provides support, education, and relief to those most in need. We proudly serve 9 counties, with many different on-site locations spanning many miles! Between our Outreach Offices, Weatherization Crews, Housing & Homeless Counselors, Senior Centers, Head Start Learning Centers, and more, it takes a large team of dedicated individuals to make it happen. ❤

Hello September! 👀📅

ERBA offers many vital programs to local communities, whether it be our Senior Centers, our Head Start locations, LIHEAP, CSBG, or another, it can be hard to keep track of everything!

This calendar highlights upcoming ERBA events, programs, and resources designed to support individuals and families across our communities! It includes general program information such as start dates and deadlines, as well as any upcoming events.

Please keep in mind that if you interact with any of these programs, your local ERBA Agency will have specific times/personalized requirements for your assistance/program. Always reach out to your local ERBA Agency or our Corporate Office if you have any questions! The purpose of this calendar is to share general program information and the important work that they do!
