SATURDAY 5/14!

Join neighbors to plant perennial flowering plants in tree beds along West Street. Last spring new trees were planted here and now is the time to add beauty to the tree beds. Tools and gloves will be provided along with fun tree facts. Volunteers will learn how to aerate, cultivate, mulch, and identify street trees. They will also learn about the important roles street trees play in New York City.

We are excited to support and at this event! Walk-ups welcome but registration recommended.

Tree lovers of Greenpoint! Join Brooklyn Greenway Initiative and Greenpoint Tree Corps to steward trees on West Street this Saturday, May 14, 10:00–12:00.

As the latest installment in BGI's effort to beautify the new Greenway on West Street, we will be planting perennials in the new tree pits and caring for the trees.
Join BGI and our partners New York Tree Trust and Greenpoint Tree Corps to celebrate the transformation of the streetscape and to help "green" Greenpoint!

We will provide gloves and tools; you should bring a hat, sunscreen, and layers.

Walk-ups welcome.
