6 years ago today, this special guy found his forever family after being saved from death row and a long time hanging out with us at the rescue!! So we couldn’t be happier that Bubba, formerly Byron, living his BESTEST life EVER with the Brown family!! 💜

He had some pretty serious surgery earlier this year and got some help with that from one of our dearest friends and followers, (her mama adopted her baby from us) Allison Walker, to remove a large tumor and he is doing really well and the family is hopeful that he has quite a few years left in him!

They love him dearly and spoil him rotten and are thankful for him every single day. And we are thankful they have each other! 💜💕🙏🏻 🐕

Happy Gotcha Day, Bubba!! We love you!! 🥰 ❤️

Six years ago two of my oldest and dearest friends, Paul and Amy, traveled from my home town of Toledo to adopt from us. Little Max was lucky enough to get one of the most loving couples I’ve ever known as his forever family and he got a big brother and best friend in Corbin, to boot! (Another brother and sis as well, but both married and starting families of their own.) He had it made! I could not have been happier for this little guy! And… I got regular updates and got to see his precious face regularly on Facebook status updates. 🤗🥰 (I hope they are not upset that I swiped some of those pics for this post.)

Unfortunately, he was recently diagnosed with a degenerative disc disease and the vets did not give them a very good outlook even with surgery. Max was in excruciating pain and my friends had to make the most heartbreaking decision. They were with him every step of the way and never left him alone.

I am heartbroken for them. I know they could use some extra thoughts, prayers and good strong positive vibes in their direction. Max was very special. They are angels here on Earth and we don’t get them for long enough. Max, we are so happy you had the best family ever. We just wish you were able to stay with them longer.

One of our oldies but besties!! We received an update today from Larry on Wilbur!! He’s looking spectacular and aging like fine w**e!! Still living his best life with his best buddies and loved beyond belief! This update couldn’t have come at a better time! I needed some good news!! Just look at that sweet little face!!! 😍❤️🙏🏻🥹

There’s so many sad videos about Tucker right now and of course a ton of his happiest moments as well, but most of those, many of you have seen. We’ve all lost a treasured favorite when Courtney (Linda) lost her baby Chuch to cancer at only 8 years old on Wednesday. I wanted to at least share something to honor his memory on here. Tucker meant so much to so many of us. Maybe a few of you would like to order his book and make him the world’s first pup in best seller’s list. I ordered mine. Rest in Heaven, Tucker. You are loved and missed. 💔🥺

Simon!! (Formerly Salem!) This group of pups really touched my heart! They were the ones we got that hadn’t received their puppy vaccines. (So even though we took them immediately to get them, things went south for a couple of them very quickly and my heart will never be the same.)

Simon and one brother were very large, healthy and hearty to begin with and thankfully did not get sick with distemper like their siblings and their friend did.

He is living his best life now and they love him tremendously. I am so thankful he got his happily ever after with the Bell family!!

We got an update on one of our puppers that was adopted almost 3 years ago!! Look at Zuri now!! She was a baby, then!! Now she thinks she is a whole human sitting there on her little couch watching the neighborhood for her family!! (The little protector that she is!) she is doing fantastic and loved beyond belief and living her best life! We couldn’t be happier for her! She has taken to be a little nanny, loving and caring for the babies that have come into the family. 🥰💕. We are beyond thrilled and thankful, as usual for the update. Thank you, mama Jazmin!! 💗

Our geese spent the summer elsewhere this year but these two broods of ducklings were born here this Spring and merged and we’ve watched them grow up on the trail cams. They’re wood ducks and their mom’s typically leave them. (Dad’s leave right away.) It appears at least one of the mom’s has remained and one seems to come back and visit. Male wood ducks are stunning- these are juveniles so don’t all have their full plumage but when they do, they will look incredibly fancy. Unlike geese, they do not mate for life. They just mate and keep on moving… the male is an easy target for predators. He is always on the go. We are sure though that the mama wood ducks were born here last spring. 🦆 🦆
