BARONIAL POLLING IS OPEN FOR THE BARONY OF MIDDLE MARCHES.

The Crown of the Middle Kingdom wishes the widest possible counsel on matters relating to the Kingdom; thus, it is requested that those who wish, please respond to the baronial poll regarding the Barony of Middle Marches.

All those Baronial residents should please complete the poll located on that page. Those who live outside of the geographic area of the Barony are welcome to complete a “non-resident poll” also on the page above.

A resident is defined as a person who lives within the geographic boundaries of the Barony. If you are unsure of your group’s geographic area, check with your Baronial/Regional Seneschal, or on the Middle Kingdom website here: https://www.midrealm.org/midrealm-group-map/

While these polls are tallied separately, the Crown values the opinions of all members of Their populace.

Please note that your polls will be VERIFIED BY YOUR NAME, ZIP CODE, AND MEMBERSHIP # (IF YOU HAVE ONE). Only cast one poll. POLLS WITH INACCURATE INFORMATION OR THOSE FILED MORE THAN ONCE UNDER THE SAME NAME OR MEMBER # WILL NOT BE TALLIED!

Thank you to those who have submitted their Letters of Intent for the Baronage of the Middle Marches. There is still time to submit your letter of Intent due by 11:59 pm this Sunday, the 27th!

Uilleag and Slany

Unto the noble citizens of Middle Marches do I send greetings!
Our treasured Baron and Baroness, Their Excellencies Uilleag and Slany have served our populace well, with enthusiasm and grace. The Barony has thrived under their wisdom. Now, the time has come to begin the process to find Their successors.

Letters of Intent will be accepted from now until September 27th. Please note that there are several requirements for a letter, including:

- SCA name and any titles (how you would like to be listed on the poll)
- Legal name with contact information including: mailing address, phone number, email address
- Copy of valid membership card (valid through the transition time period) and a copy of photo identification
- A single photo of each candidate along with the current MK photo release form

Additionally, a photo of both candidates together should be submitted separately as PNG, JPG, GIF, or TIF.

All documents should be in a PDF or Word document format, please. Letters can include any information the candidate wishes to communicate to the Crown or the populace – such as SCA experience or vision for the barony.

Please note that the letter and a photo, along with your SCA name only, will be posted to the Baronial website after September 27th.

We, Baroness Slany bean Uillic and Baron Uilleag Balbhán, have these past five years joyfully held stewardship over the Barony. In that time, our noble barony has flourished, and we have welcomed new companions whose fellowship has ever strengthened the Dream. Yet now approaches the hour for us to step aside, that others may carry forward the glory of the Middle Marches, keeping faith with honored customs while giving life to worthy new ideas.

For those of you interested in taking on the role of Baronage of the Middle Marches, please submit your letter of intent to the Middle Marches Seneschal, [email protected]. The date to begin submitting your letter of intent is August 27, 2026. The deadline date to submit your letter of intent is September 27, 2026.

Polls open October 4 and close October 25, 2026.

We have requested the Crown to hold the investiture for us to step down and have the new Baronage step up at Candlemas on January 23, 2027.

Hello Middle Marches! Northern Oaken War North Oaken War Maneuvers XXVIII is coming up on June 13 and we need classes! There are plenty of spots for whatever you want to teach, and it's a great chance to practice before Pennsic - or just practice!

The site also means it's an opportunity to teach something that doesn't normally fit in a classroom - maybe you know something about nature, or enjoy cooking over fire, or just need extra space? We've got it!
