On June 5, we recognized National HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day, a day dedicated to honoring the people who have lived through decades of change, challenges, and progress in the fight against HIV.

This year, Heart to Hand shared a reflection from Deputy Director Kenneth Pettigrew, who marked more than 25 years of living with HIV. His story highlighted the resilience, strength, and purpose that can emerge from even the most difficult journeys.

Long-term survivors have helped shape the future of HIV care, advocacy, and education. Today and every day, we celebrate their contributions, honor those we've lost, and continue working toward a future where everyone living with HIV can thrive. ❤️

This year, we gathered for our 1st Annual Employee Cookout to celebrate the people behind the work. It was a day filled with connection, laughter, and appreciation for the dedicated team members who help advance our mission every day.

DC Black Pride began as more than a celebration. It started as a space for Black LGBTQ+ people to gather, build community, and support one another during the HIV/AIDS crisis. Created in Washington, DC in 1991, it sparked a movement that continues today.

From joy to advocacy, DC Black Pride reminds us that community care has always been at the center. At Heart to Hand, we honor the spaces, leaders, and movements that continue creating support, visibility, and access for our communities. ❤️
