In observance of Juneteenth, NeighborWorks Green Bay will be closed on Friday, June 19.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and opportunity for all.

We encourage our neighbors, partners, and community members to take time to learn, reflect, and celebrate the significance of this important day.
Our office will reopen during normal business hours on Monday, June 22.

🏡 Building homes takes more than lumber and nails—it takes vision, dedication, and people willing to give their time and expertise for the good of the community.
During our Good Neighbor Bus Tour, participants had the opportunity to learn about the 4th Street Townhomes and meet one of the key individuals helping bring this project to life: Paul Vande Hei.

As a volunteer general contractor, Paul has dedicated more than two years to overseeing this highly visible and complex development. With one townhome already providing a home for a new family, one ready for sale, and five more on track for completion this August, NeighborWorks Green Bay is adding much-needed homeownership opportunities to the Green Bay housing market.

“This project involves numerous stakeholders and requires constant coordination, oversight, and problem-solving. Without Paul's willingness to take on this challenge during his retirement, these seven new homes simply would not have become a reality”, said David Erickson, NWGB’s Real Estate Development Director.
We are incredibly grateful for Paul's leadership, expertise, and commitment to creating housing opportunities for local families. His volunteer service demonstrates the power of community partnerships and the lasting impact one person can have.

Thank you, Paul, for helping build more than homes—you are helping build futures. 💙

🏡 Congratulations to NeighborWorks Green Bay Board Member Moira Callan on the completion of a remarkable affordable housing project in Sturgeon Bay.

Through the rehabilitation of the historic Cherry Lanes building, Moira and her family have transformed an underutilized second floor into eight affordable apartments, creating new housing opportunities for individuals and couples in Door County.

The demand speaks for itself—before opening, the apartments received approximately 90 applications and were fully occupied upon completion.

"When we purchased this building, the vision was quite simple—it was to invest in Sturgeon Bay for affordable workforce housing," Moira shared. "Our goal was really to build something that made our corner of the world a little bit brighter and a little bit better."

At NeighborWorks Green Bay, we know strong communities begin with safe, stable, and affordable housing. We are proud to have leaders like Moira on our Board of Directors who are helping turn that vision into reality throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

Please join us in congratulating Moira and her family on this incredible accomplishment and their continued commitment to strengthening communities through housing.

💚🏡

💙 Every home has a story.
During our Good Neighbor Bus Tour, participants heard from Angie, a 2025 Good Neighbor Week homeowner. While her story is one of resilience, determination, and gratitude, it is unfortunately not unique in our community.

Many homeowners face challenges that make it difficult to keep up with minor home repairs and yard maintenance. Through Good Neighbor Week, NeighborWorks Green Bay partners with Green Bay Neighborhoods, the City of Green Bay, the Village of Allouez, and this year, the De Pere Area Chamber and City of De Pere, to help homeowners address those needs.

Angie shared what it meant to have volunteers step in and lend a hand. These volunteers wear their hearts on their sleeves, dedicating their time and talents to help neighbors make improvements that keep homes safe, well-maintained, and accessible for years to come.

The impact goes beyond a repaired porch, cleaned yard, or fresh coat of paint. It's about preserving dignity, creating stability, and helping neighbors remain in the homes and communities they love.

Thank you to every volunteer, partner, and supporter who makes Good Neighbor Week possible. Together, we're building stronger neighborhoods—one home, one project, and one neighbor at a time. 🏡✨

What an incredible way to kick off NeighborWorks Week!

A huge thank you to the staff, volunteers, community partners, and neighbors who joined us for NeighborWorks Green Bay's Good Neighbor Bus Tour. With two tours traveling throughout Green Bay, participants had the opportunity to see firsthand how collaboration creates real solutions to housing challenges in our community.

At each stop, partners shared their unique roles, innovative approaches, and the impact that happens when organizations, businesses, residents, and local leaders work together toward a common goal.

As we continue through June and celebrate National Homeownership Month, we'll be highlighting these important partnerships and raising awareness about the critical housing needs facing our community. Together, we can create opportunities for safe, affordable housing and stronger neighborhoods for everyone.

Thank you for being part of the journey!

"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood."

Those words have meant something special for generations.

This week, a new generation is discovering Mister Rogers as his iconic show launches on YouTube, sharing timeless lessons about kindness, belonging, and what it means to be a good neighbor.

At NeighborWorks Green Bay, we see those same values come to life every day. Through homeownership, neighborhood revitalization, volunteer projects, and community partnerships, we are helping create neighborhoods where people feel connected, supported, and proud to call home.

That's what our Annual Celebration is all about.

It's a chance to celebrate the homeowners, volunteers, donors, partners, and neighbors who remind us that strong communities are built one relationship, one home, and one act of kindness at a time.

Because everyone deserves a place where they belong.

🏡 Join us as we celebrate the power of neighbors helping neighbors.

The nonprofit overseeing the legacy of children's TV icon Fred Rogers is starting a YouTube channel dedicated to his long-running PBS show.
