⚓️PTK Catalyst: Baltimore, Maryland 🦀

This year’s Catalyst theme is “Chart Your Course”, and our leadership team was inspired by educational forums, general session, and keynote speakers. Throughout this journey, we met a lot of new people from alll over the country, made closer connections with chapters in division 3, and voted for the 2026-2027 International Officer Team. We are very excited to work with our new International Officers!

Keynote speakers gave inspiration to make change and shared their amazing life journeys. This year, we had the opportunity to hear from astronaut and advocate Amanda Nguyen, founder of 100 Things Sebastian Terry, and Governor of Maryland and PTK Alum Wes Moore.

Congratulations to Isaiah Laitinen for recognition as Distinguished Chapter Member 🎊. Our team is very honored that we were named in the top 100 PTK chapters! Our experiences this week helped us to generate new ideas for engagement and growth in our chapter. We returned home with excitement for the betterment of our chapter and community.

What an unforgettable weekend for our Phi Theta Kappa chapter at the Wisconsin Regional Convention! From Newton’s star performance in our roll call skit to celebrating with friends across the region, we’re still smiling from all the fun, laughter, and well earned recognition. Today, the Beta Nu Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at NWTC officially submitted both our College Project and Honors in Action Project! 🎉

This year, our Honors in Action Project challenged our chapter to explore the importance of early childhood literacy and its long-term impact on educational success. Our team of dedicated PTK members spent countless hours researching, interpreting data, and writing what we truly believe is a strong and meaningful project.
But Honors in Action isn’t just about academic research — it’s about taking what we learn and putting it into action. Using our research findings, our chapter sponsored a collection of educational materials that were sent with NWTC’s Early Childhood Education students during their study abroad trip to Belize. These materials are now being shared with children who may not otherwise have access to these resources.

We believe access to educational materials should be available to all children, everywhere — even if our impact starts with a small group. Seeing our research turn into something tangible and meaningful has been incredibly rewarding.

Thank you to every PTK member who stepped up, volunteered their time, and helped bring both projects to completion. We are so proud of the work accomplished this year and excited to continue building on it.
