The mission of the Great Neck Teachers Association is to promote and support the welfare of its members and to safeguard the excellence of a Great Neck education for all students. The GNTA fosters communication between teachers and other stakeholders and works to strengthen the educational process in an ever-changing environment.

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Great Neck Teachers Association was proud to join in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Jones Beach. Together, our GNTA community raised over $1,500 to support this important cause.

We are so grateful to everyone who showed up to walk, donated, and helped make this effort possible. Thank you for coming together with us to support breast cancer awareness, research, and the continued fight for a future without breast cancer. 💕

This past Tuesday, the kindergarten children at Parkville School were surprised by a visit from Gatsby the GNTA Giraffe! He arrived to help distribute GNTA blue bags containing a copy of the book Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae, a welcome letter from GNTA, and a giraffe coloring page.

Every kindergartner in the district will receive this gift. GNTA recognizes that transitions are milestones, and we want to acknowledge the importance of students beginning their formal education in the Great Neck Public Schools and welcome families to the district. We’re eager to show that GNTA celebrates new beginnings and early literacy!
