Congratulations to our district social workers, who were recently recognized as GNTA CAN Community Advocates: Aimee Kaplan (EMB), Meghan Bennett (JFK), Samantha Finn (LKV), Maria Tsonis (PKV), Julie Goldin (SR), Wendy Murad (NMS), Vanessa Cruz (SMS), Oana Scholl (NHS), and Joan Greenberg (SHS)!

On May 20, 2026, at the GNTA End of Year and Retirement Reception, the Great Neck Teachers Association Community Advocacy Network (CAN) was proud to recognize nine of our members as part of our GNTA CAN Community Recognition Award Campaign, an initiative to recognize and celebrate the individuals among us who are already doing the work - those who lead, serve, and advocate on behalf of our community every day.

This campaign is an opportunity to formally acknowledge the dedication, leadership, and impact that often happens quietly but makes a meaningful difference. Throughout our network, advocates go above and beyond to advance important initiatives, support collaborative efforts, and strengthen our shared mission. The Community Advocate Recognition Campaign honors and celebrates Community Advocates, highlighting their contributions.
