C'mon, we know you sing this to your plants, too! 😅😜

Little known fact: Christian is one of the 3 crazy plant people here in the 88.3 WCQR office. Can you guess who the other two are? 👀

As Donor Appreciation Week comes to a close, we simply want to say thank you.

Thank you to our monthly donors. Thank you to our Day Sponsors. Thank you to listeners who create personal giving challenges and rally others around this ministry.

Thank you to everyone who prays, gives, and supports 88.3 WCQR.

Beth and Jeff wanted to share this with all of you:
“My husband and I used to be monthly donors, but we had to stop due to financial issues. Fortunately, God has blessed us, and we have been able to become monthly donors again! We love the station and we love all the hosts! It is very important to us to have this station because everything about it is uplifting. You are all a major blessing to us and we love you!”

Every gift becomes part of someone’s story. And every story points back to the faithfulness of God. 🙏

If you’re missing your dad on Father’s Day, you’re grieving the loss of something special to you. It's okay. 🩵

My grandpa was like a father to me. He and my grandma took me to church, where Grandpa helped build the baptistry I later got baptized in. He gave me away at my wedding and was present at all my dance performances. He was annoying and stubborn, but he taught me by example how to be a good person, get involved in the community, and give back. He was generous, funny, and so weird. I guess that’s where I got it from. I loved him so much!

When my grandpa passed in January of 2024, his Bible happened to be one of the first of his belongings I picked up, and on the inside cover, he had taped two photos. On the left side, a small portrait of his parents, under which he wrote in his characteristic all-caps handwriting: “MY DAD & MOM, GRADEN & OPAL.” To the right of it, a picture of a little 2 or 3-year-old, curly-haired me, under which was written “MY LITTLE PRINCESS CASEY.” To no surprise, I needed a whole box of tissues. Of all the people in his life to keep in his bible, he picked me.

Father’s Day is hard when you lose your dad. What has encouraged me the most is knowing that as much as my dad loved me, my Heavenly Father loves me so much more. All the wonderful qualities that my dad had, my Heavenly Father has infinite more. And of all the flaws my dad had, my Heavenly Father has none. I pray that if you are grieving the loss of a father or father-figure in your life, you are comforted by your Heavenly Father who sees you and loves you so much more than you could ever imagine. 🫶 ~Casey

Some listeners choose to make giving personal.

Heather and her husband believe in this ministry so much that they’ve challenged other listeners to get involved.

She says, “We continue to support WCQR because it has been a great influence in our lives. Just listening on our daily commute to and from work, I have my daughter in the back seat in the mornings on the way to school, and she's singing all the words to all the songs. Just listening to her praise is amazing.

The radio station has been such a positive influence. It just gives you such a comfort, knowing that there's a station like WCQR out there. And we want to continue to support it so that others can experience that.”

Thank you to the listeners who inspire others to support the mission and ministry of 88.3 WCQR.

There are many ways listeners support this ministry.
And every one of them matters.

Some give monthly. Some create personal challenges. Some faithfully pray for the ministry every single day. And some sponsor a day of encouraging radio.

A recent and memorable Day Sponsor was provided by the Dutton family in memory of Dennis Dutton. Throughout the day, listeners heard about Dennis' love for Jesus, his faithful service, and the joy he brought to so many as a beloved volunteer and friend of the ministry.

Day Sponsorships are meant to help uplift and encourage, through joyous memories and celebrations, or sharing in the loss of a dear friend.

Together, God uses every act of generosity to encourage families, uplift hurting people, and point hearts toward Jesus.

Yes, all dads are super, but we are ready to announce the winner of our SUPERDAD Giveaway (plus some really special honorable mentions). Swipe through the photos to see them all. 🫶

While the winner was selected randomly, we know it really is a God thing: Our winner this year is John! In the submission, his daughter Rachel said, "'Super' is really an understatement for my dad. He is a USMC veteran that served in Desert Storm and later served as a US Postmaster and in various ministry roles. After being tragically shot twelve years ago, he is now a paraplegic who still actively leads our family - his four children, four grandchildren, and extended family - with daily love, faith and wisdom."

What a blessing John has been to his family, and we are thrilled to be blessing him with:
- A “Father’s Day Feast” from The Firehouse Restaurant and Catering in Johnson City with pulled pork, ribs, and sides for up to 15 people
- A Hyper Tough workbench from Valley Forge Wholesale and Auction
- A family-size cooler from American Home Supply
- An oil change from H-Tek Tire and Auto
- And swag from his favorite radio station, WCQR! 😊
Thank you to The Firehouse Restaurant, Valley Forge Wholesale & Auction, American Home Supply, and H-Tek Tire & Auto for making this blessing possible!

And a special thanks to each of you who submitted the superdads in your life - all 125 submissions were so special and meaningful. Dads, we hope all of you know how truly SUPER you are! 🩵
