❤️🦜 Help Us Build More Safe Spaces for Rescue Birds 🦜❤️

I’m reaching out today to ask for your help with an important housing project for the birds at NETARR.

As many of you know, we are constantly welcoming birds who need a safe place to land. Providing secure, spacious housing is one of our biggest ongoing challenges, as commercial aviaries and large parrot enclosures can be extremely expensive.

After a lot of planning, I’ve found a way to maximize every donation dollar. The poultry runs shown in the photos, available through Tractor Supply, can be modified and divided into multiple enclosures. By purchasing just two poultry runs and a few additional door panels, I can build six separate 5’ x 5’ aviaries for our rescue birds.

The aviaries pictured were made possible thanks to the generosity of my dear friends, Will and Amanda Righter, who donated the first poultry run, and Joyce Liberstein, whose generous donation allowed me to purchase the second. Because of their kindness, I was able to create the enclosures shown in the photos, and they have worked wonderfully for the birds.

Every aviary we build provides a bird with a safe, comfortable place to heal, decompress, and begin the next chapter of their life. More aviaries mean we can better accommodate incoming rescues and improve the quality of life for the birds already in our care.

If you would like to help make this project possible, any donation—large or small—would be greatly appreciated. Together, we can turn two poultry runs into six beautiful aviaries and provide more rescued birds with the space, security, and comfort they deserve.

Today I opened a box that absolutely overwhelmed me with gratitude.

A huge thank you to Lisa Norris and her bird toy business for this incredible donation of enrichment toys for the rescue. These toys will bring so much joy, mental stimulation, and enrichment to the birds in our care.

I also want to recognize Lisa Anderson, who purchased four toys specifically for the rescue. Not only did Lisa make that generous donation, but Lisa Norris went above and beyond by adding all of the additional toys you see here. ❤️

What many people don’t see is how often Lisa Norris quietly helps rescues, sanctuaries, and birds in need. She consistently gives back, supports organizations that are struggling, and helps make sure birds receive the enrichment they deserve. She does so much behind the scenes, often without recognition or praise.

Running a rescue is expensive, and donations like this make a tremendous difference. Every toy means happier, healthier birds and one less thing for the rescue to worry about purchasing. Acts of kindness like these remind me that there are still incredibly generous people willing to help make a difference.

From the birds and me at NETARR, and from the many birds who will enjoy these wonderful toys, thank you, Lisa Norris, for your generosity, your kindness, and for everything you do for rescues and the avian community. And thank you, Lisa Anderson, for thinking of our birds and helping make this donation possible.

The packages arrived separately, but unfortunately there were no names included in the boxes, so I don’t know who to thank personally. Please know that your generosity is greatly appreciated by both me and the birds. Food is one of my biggest ongoing expenses, and donations like these make a tremendous difference in helping me care for the many birds at NETARR.
