I have so many amazing supporters! From sending food, donations, volunteers, and just being a phone call away if I need a bird picked up in an emergency when I am at work. Yesterday I had so much help and I am truly grateful. I actually was able to get things done while my volunteers did everything. I was able to sprout, freeze dry, and just organize everything that wasn’t in its place. Thank you Lamore and Emily helping with waters, feeding, and cutting up chop. Thank you Morgan and Pam for coming and cleaning!! You guys are the best and I had a relaxing day yesterday and more time playing with the birds!! I am so blessed and grateful for everyone that donates in some way. You don’t go unnoticed!!

I unfortunately didn’t get a picture of Morgan and Pam, I misplaced my phone. Those that know me well know I never can find my phone 🤦🏼‍♀️ lol

🦜💚 Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Rockstar Rescue Tour to Northeast Tennessee Avian Rescue & Rehabilitation (NETARR), and what an incredible visit it was!

From the moment they arrived, it was obvious how deeply they care about parrots and the people who dedicate their lives to helping them. Their compassion, generosity, and wealth of knowledge were truly inspiring. Spending time with them, sharing stories, talking birds, and learning from one another was such a wonderful experience.

One of the highlights of the day for me was that several of our amazing volunteers were here and had the opportunity to meet them as well. That meant so much to me. Our volunteers dedicate countless hours to caring for these birds, and I was so happy they got to spend time with such an incredible group of people who share the same passion for avian rescue.

I especially want to thank you for sharing your knowledge so openly. Even after years of running a rescue, I walked away having learned new things, and I absolutely love that. There is always something new to learn in avian care, and I would love the opportunity to continue learning from all of you in the future.

You are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but you are also some of the kindest, most genuine, and down-to-earth people we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Your passion for helping rescues across the country and improving the lives of parrots is something truly special, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for taking the time to visit our little rescue here in Northeast Tennessee. Your encouragement, support, and friendship mean more than you know. Every rescue faces challenges, but meeting people like you reminds us why we keep going.

From all of us at NETARR—and especially from the more than 150 parrots whose lives have been forever changed through rescue—thank you for everything you do. Your impact reaches far beyond the rescues you visit, and we are honored to have been one of your stops along the way.

We hope our paths cross again soon. Until then, thank you for being amazing advocates, incredible educators, and even more incredible human beings.

Because of people like you… hope truly has feathers. ❤️🦜

Thank you for the following sponsors that made this possible! They showed up with 3 boxes of goodies! I will post pic later!!!

Every single day, an incredible amount of time, work, and dedication goes into running a parrot rescue.

Veterinary care. Medications. Fresh fruits and vegetables. Pellets. Nuts. Electricity. Water. Cleaning supplies. Enrichment. Aviary maintenance. Laundry. Repairs. Endless cleaning. And above all, countless hours caring for over 180 parrots that depend on us every single day.

Take a moment and ask yourself… what do you think it costs just to feed over 180 birds every month?

Lately, I’ve seen people criticize rescues for asking for donations. The truth is, most rescues aren’t funded by large organizations or wealthy donors. Many of us rely on small donations from compassionate people who simply want to help make a difference.

Rescues ask for food donations because every bag of pellets, every box of fresh produce, every bag of nuts, and every bird-safe item donated helps ensure these parrots are fed while allowing them to direct more of their own resources toward veterinary care and improving the parrots quality of life.

With over 180 hungry beaks to feed every day, we’re at the point where we’re once again in need of food donations. If you’ve been thinking about helping, now is a wonderful time. Every bag of food, every box of fresh fruits and vegetables, and every donation—no matter the size—goes directly to the birds.

The people who are the quickest to criticize are often those who have never operated a rescue and have never been responsible for the daily care, expense, and commitment that comes with housing, feeding, cleaning, and providing medical care for hundreds of birds. It’s easy to judge from behind a keyboard. It’s much harder to dedicate your life to doing the work.

Instead of tearing rescues down, we should be lifting each other up. Every rescue is working toward the same goal—giving animals a second chance. We may all do things a little differently, but our mission is the same.

Rescues need to support one another, encourage one another, and work together—not compete, criticize, or tear each other down. When we stand together, the animals are the ones who benefit the most.

To everyone who has donated food, volunteered your time, shared our posts, or simply offered words of encouragement—thank you. Your kindness makes a difference every single day, and because of you, over 180 parrots have full bellies, safe places to land, and hope for a brighter future.

If you’d like to help us feed the flock, we’d be incredibly grateful for food donations. We are getting low:( Every single contribution helps, and every bag truly makes a difference. ❤️🦜
