A recent independent economic study shows that programs funded through WIOA (the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act—a federal initiative designed to help jobseekers get skills, training, and employment support) aren't just changing lives, they're driving a massive economic return for our entire region.

That return on investment starts with our local Community Action Agencies. Operating right in our neighborhoods, their dedicated teams serve as the bridge between federal funding and real-world results. From offering one-on-one career counseling and funding classroom or on-the-job training to helping jobseekers overcome hurdles like transportation, childcare, and work gear, our CAP partners make sure local workers have everything they need to succeed.

The numbers speak for themselves: when workforce programs empower local jobseekers through dedicated local support, everyone wins! Putting people to work strengthens our local economy and creates a stronger financial future for all of Eastern Kentucky.

Real progress happens when organizations unite behind a shared mission to serve our community. By working together and partnering with our leaders, we can amplify our impact and achieve the greater good for those who need it most. 🤝

Today, Knox County Senior Center Director Shawn, our Site Manager Tarrah, and I (Amber Case-Director) were honored to be invited to an event in Knox County with Senator Robert Stivers and State Representative Tom O’Dell Smith to speak about the important issue of funding for meals.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have our voices heard and to share how important these meals and services are to the seniors and communities we serve. We are all working together, and we truly appreciate the support of our leaders as we continue to advocate and fight for our community.

When we work together, we can make a difference! Thank you for listening, supporting, and standing with us as we continue to fight for the needs of our seniors and our community.
