What an amazing community we have supporting our Veterans in North Texas. A recent Camp Hope graduate reached out and asked if we could help him get some furniture donated for his new home. We sent the word out to our volunteer committee, and they rallied to get enough donated to nearly fully furnish his new home. The Veteran was moved by all of the support and what was donated to him. To all that supported, thank you for helping him start his new journey.

Yesterday on Road to Hope Radio, hosted by David Maulsby, Executive Director of Support & Giving at the PTSD Foundation of America | Camp Hope, we had the privilege of hearing the powerful story of Army Veteran Joseph Figuero-Rojas.

Born in Puerto Rico and the first in his family to serve in the military, Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Army at just 19 years old as a 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. During his service, he deployed multiple times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, serving 15 months on his first deployment while working checkpoints and as part of a quick response force team.

After years of service and sacrifice, Joseph was diagnosed with PTSD through Army Behavioral Health in 2017 and exited the Army in 2018. Like so many Veterans, he faced battles long after coming home, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

On April 27th, Joseph arrived at Camp Hope. He described his very first day as “welcoming,” and already he says his family is proud of the progress he is making. Today, he is focused on strengthening his faith, rediscovering his purpose, and building a new future.

One thing that has deeply impacted him during his time at Camp Hope is seeing families and children visiting campus on Sundays.

“It gives me hope.”

Joseph’s story is a reminder that PTSD does not have to end in tragedy. Healing is possible, hope is real, and no Veteran should have to fight alone.

Thank you, Joseph, for your courage, honesty, and service to our nation.

This May, we had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of nine Veterans from the Camp Hope Program. This remarkable class included 6 Soldiers, 1 Sailor, 1 Marine, and 1 member of the United States Coast Guard, a branch we don't often have the opportunity to recognize at Camp Hope, making this evening even more special.

One of the greatest strengths of Camp Hope is that it brings together men from different branches, backgrounds, and life experiences, all united by a common mission: healing, growth, and reclaiming their lives. This class embodied that spirit. While the Army once again led the way in numbers, each graduate brought something unique to the brotherhood and left an impact on those around them.

Having a Coast Guardsman graduate alongside Soldiers, a Marine, and a Sailor served as a powerful reminder that the wounds of service do not discriminate by branch. Whether serving overseas, protecting our coastlines, or standing watch around the world, these Veterans shared a common commitment to their country, and now a common commitment to their recovery.

This group demonstrated resilience, humility, and a willingness to do the difficult work required for lasting change. They encouraged one another, challenged one another, and proved that healing is possible when you refuse to fight alone.

To our May graduates: thank you for trusting the process and allowing us to be part of your journey. Your perseverance has inspired your peers, your families, and our staff. We are incredibly proud of each of you and honored to celebrate this milestone together.
Congratulations, brothers. No matter the branch you served in, you are now forever connected through the Camp Hope family.

PTSD Awareness Month: A Simple Act Can Change a Veteran’s Future

The wounds of war are not always visible.

For many combat Veterans, the battle continues long after they return home. PTSD can affect relationships, careers, physical health, and a Veteran’s sense of purpose. Yet every day at Camp Hope, we see lives transformed when Veterans are given the support, resources, and community they need to heal.

This PTSD Awareness Month, you have an opportunity to be part of that transformation.

Your donation helps provide a safe environment where Veterans can connect with peers who understand their struggles, develop life-changing skills, and begin rebuilding hope for the future. What may seem like a simple gift can become a turning point in a Veteran’s journey toward healing.

Stand with those who stood for us.
💙 Support hope.
💙 Support healing.

This Week on Road to Hope Radio with David Maulsby

Join us this Sunday as we welcome Army Veteran Margarito Bruno to share his powerful journey of hope, healing, and restoration.

Margarito enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2000 to pursue his dream of serving in law enforcement as a Military Police Officer. After deploying to Iraq during the early stages of the war in 2003, he faced the chaos and challenges that would follow him long after returning home.

For 12 years, Margarito served in law enforcement in his hometown of Chicago, but the invisible wounds of war eventually took their toll. Struggling with PTSD, guilt, shame, loss of purpose, identity issues, and substance abuse, he found himself searching for a way forward.

After relocating to San Antonio in 2025, Margarito connected with the PTSD Foundation of America through local support groups. It was the Outreach Team's genuine care and commitment that convinced him he wasn't alone in the fight.

Now, three months into his journey at Camp Hope, Margarito says, "My attitude has changed," as he continues to rebuild his life, rediscover his purpose, and strengthen his faith.

Don't miss this inspiring conversation about resilience, recovery, and the power of hope.

Tune in this Sunday for Road to Hope Radio with David Maulsby and hear how healing is possible for those battling the invisible wounds of war.

PTSD Awareness Month: Help Us Bring Hope to Those Who Served

Every day, combat Veterans across our nation battle invisible wounds that most people never see. PTSD, depression, anxiety, and moral injury can leave Veterans feeling isolated, hopeless, and unsure where to turn.

At the PTSD Foundation of America | Camp Hope, we witness the power of healing every day. Through peer support, mentoring, life-skills training, and a community of fellow Veterans who understand their struggles, men and women are finding hope, rebuilding relationships, and reclaiming their lives. The organization's mission is to provide hope and healing to Veterans and their families affected by combat-related PTSD and other invisible wounds.

This PTSD Awareness Month, you can make a direct impact.

💙 Your gift helps provide a safe place for Veterans to heal.
💙 Your support reminds a struggling Veteran that they are not alone.
💙 Your generosity helps transform lives and strengthen families.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue this mission of restoring hope and healing to those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
