American Coaster Enthusiasts Founded July 15, 1978, American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE), a non-profit with over 7,000 members!

Welcome to the official Facebook of American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE), the world's largest organization of amusement ride enthusiasts. ACE was founded in 1978 as a not-for-profit, all volunteer organization to foster and promote the conservation, appreciation, knowledge and enjoyment of the art of the classic wooden roller coaster and the contemporary steel coaster. Our organization has grown from a handful of members to over 7,000 members representing all 50 states, DC, and 12 countries. We publish a bimonthly online newsletter and a quarterly printed magazine for our members. ACE also hosts several events at parks each year, including Coaster Con, our annual convention -- an event that typically has a duration of six days and celebrates all things roller coaster -- there is truly no other event like it in the world! If you love the thrill of the twists, turns, drops and loops of a roller coaster, this organization (and this Facebook) is for you!

🎃 Creepy Coaster Countdown: Steel Phantom 🎢👻

Before Phantom’s Revenge, there was Steel Phantom! Built by Arrow Dynamics, this steel coaster terrified riders at Kennywood with its incredible speed, four inversions and intense ride experience.

Opening in 1991, Steel Phantom delivered high-speed thrills before its final ride in 2000. Its legacy lives on at Kennywood, where Phantom’s Revenge took over the track in 2001, keeping part of the original coaster’s spirit alive with a whole new experience.

Steel Phantom may be gone, but for those who braved its terrifying twists and turns, the memories are anything but dead!

Born from the spooky folklore of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, the Jersey Devil is said to be a mysterious creature with hooves, wings and a terrifying scream. Six Flags Great Adventure brought that legend to life when this Rocky Mountain Construction single-rail coaster opened in 2021!

🦇 The Creepy Coaster Countdown to Halloween is ON!

We’re kicking things off with a throwback to The Bat at Kings Island in Ohio, the world’s first Arrow suspended coaster!

Not to be confused with the current Bat at Kings Island, this original opened in 1981 and sent riders soaring on a thrilling, swinging journey. While its run was short-lived, The Bat helped pave the way for a new generation of suspended coasters.

As we count down to Halloween, we’ll be revisiting some of the creepiest, spookiest and most memorable coasters from the past and present. 🎃
