APIRSN APIRSN (A Personal Intervention and Support Network) APIRSN became an official non-profit in 2015 through a grant from Soroptimist International Grand Prairie.

ABOUT APIRSN
Our mission is to provide Grand Prairie prostitutes with services that will help them propel their lives forward with a positive future. In the prelude to such events, an ad hoc committee was formed to report any connections that may consist within the Soroptimist “Stop Trafficking” campaign in 2007. Findings showed that the women in their campaign have similar backgrounds that conne

ct them together. In 2012, the committee acquired the task of making changes to help these women. They set goals to help women who were trapped in prostitution in Grand Prairie. Ultimately they wanted to help these women exit prostitution and create an opportunity for them to live safer, happier and more sustainable lives. In December 2013 they launched a support network for women in Grand Prairie who were trying to exit prostitution. The network is completely volunteer based and on an as needed basis. Since it launched, it has grown due to the addition of women in need. In 2014, the leadership roles shifted and the ad hoc committee became the official board of directors. A year later, they registered their organization as APIRSN, A Prostitution Intervention Rehabilitation Services Network.

Our Story

ABOUT APIRSN APIRSN prevents women from being trapped in prostitution and helps trapped women escape prostitution. APIRSN became an official non-profit in 2015 through a grant from Soroptimist International of the Americas - Grand Prairie. In the prelude to such events, an ad hoc committee was formed to report any connections that may consist within the Grand Prairie Community and the Soroptimist’s 2007 “Stop Trafficking” campaign. Findings showed that there were, indeed, women in Grand Prairie who were trapped in prostitution. The committee researched the local barriers to escaping the trap and learned that the best research came from actually trying to help women. In December 2013 they launched a support network for women in Grand Prairie who were trying to exit prostitution. The network is completely volunteer-based and on an as needed basis.

Since it launched, it has grown due to the additional found to be in need of these services, including referrals from the Grand Prairie Police Department. In 2014, the leadership roles shifted and the ad hoc committee became the official board of directors. A year later, they registered their organization with the Texas Secretary of State and the IRS as APIRSN - A Prostitution Intervention and Rehabilitation Support Network. In 2018 the acronym was changed to “A Personal Intervention and Support Network” to reflect our preventative efforts and to prevent victim-shaming.
