A few weeks ago, BWISE celebrated three remarkable young women by awarding them scholarships to support their educational journeys: Hannah Stanton, Gamillah Andrews, and Whitney Randall. These exceptional leaders maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher while actively engaging in their communities.

We also honored an outstanding educator, Mrs. LaToya Williams, from Ruby Young Talented and Gifted Academy. With over 20 years of experience in education, she has inspired countless students to pursue their destinies. We are grateful for her dedicated and unwavering support of our future leaders!

Our dynamic guest speaker was Constable Sandra Lee of Tarrant County Precinct 7. She encouraged us to feel comfortable in the spaces we occupy, reminding us that we belong and are paving the way for the future!

Black Women Instilling Scholarly Excellence (BWISE) is a small nonprofit mentoring organization founded in 2018 by 5 DNP students. To date, we have awarded $10,500 in scholarships, provided 12 laptops, distributed over $3,600 in back-to-school supplies, and given $600 in educator appreciation. We have also mentored four young women, three of whom have successfully graduated from college.
