New Energy Colorado

New Energy Colorado New Energy Colorado has deep roots in Colorado’s environmental communities. We organize the annual Metro Denver and Ark Valley Green Homes Tours each year.

We work to provide education on energy issues to citizens as a 501(c)(3) non‐profit organization. For more than 20 years, New Energy Colorado (formerly Golden Earth Days) has conducted its mission of promoting and demonstrating greater environmental awareness and appreciation in the greater Golden area and Colorado through educational and volunteer action-oriented efforts including public outreach

, coordinating large and small scale canyon clean-up efforts in Clear Creek Canyon, tree plantings in the Golden area, and ongoing Clear Creek Trail planning. As a Colorado 501(c)3 non-profit, our small yet mighty grassroots organization “walks the talk” when it comes to sustainability. We are proud to be now be partnering with the Golden Sustainability Initiative to increase our community’s awareness of renewable energy and transportation options and to encourage commitment to actively taking part in sustainability. It is now more important than ever for individuals and communities to have fact-based information on how to make responsible energy choices. We hope that this tour, and our other outreach events, will help to that end.

Our Summer Celebration is coming up fast! You can register now on our events page to enjoy a summer evening learning all about sustainable living and renewable energy here in Colorado. We are excited to welcome Tim Wirth to the celebration this year to celebrate Colorado's 150th birthday! Tim Wirth has served as a U.S. Senator and Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs to represent Colorado and the United States as a whole. Additionally he has worked extensively for the U.N., with a strong focus on climate change and climate justice.

We are excited to celebrate green energy past and present here in Colorado with EV car show, silent auction, networking with climate leaders, food and drink, live music, and we are excited to have a performance by Indigenous Corporation 5280 who will share a live Indigenous Cultural dance at our event.

Please join us for this special night on July 7th. Bring a friend and each get discounted tickets!

This week is Air Quality Awareness Week!

The Regional Air Quality Council is the leading air quality planning agency for the Denver metropolitan area. They’re also one of CEFF’s sponsors, and together we share a vision of improving the health of our communities and our environment.

Did you know that ground-level ozone, though invisible, is one of the biggest air quality challenges we face each summer on the Front Range?

But there are small actions we can take that can make a big impact. Get alerts this summer from Simple Steps Better Air about how to protect your health and help improve our air by texting “BetterAirCO” to 21000.
