New Energy Colorado

New Energy Colorado has deep roots in Colorado’s environmental communities. We organize the annual Metro Denver and Ark Valley Green Homes Tours each year.

We work to provide education on energy issues to citizens as a 501(c)(3) non‐profit organization. For more than 20 years, New Energy Colorado (formerly Golden Earth Days) has conducted its mission of promoting and demonstrating greater environmental awareness and appreciation in the greater Golden area and Colorado through educational and volunteer action-oriented efforts including public outreach

, coordinating large and small scale canyon clean-up efforts in Clear Creek Canyon, tree plantings in the Golden area, and ongoing Clear Creek Trail planning. As a Colorado 501(c)3 non-profit, our small yet mighty grassroots organization “walks the talk” when it comes to sustainability. We are proud to be now be partnering with the Golden Sustainability Initiative to increase our community’s awareness of renewable energy and transportation options and to encourage commitment to actively taking part in sustainability. It is now more important than ever for individuals and communities to have fact-based information on how to make responsible energy choices. We hope that this tour, and our other outreach events, will help to that end.

We are so excited for this years Metro Denver Green Homes Tour! Held on the first Saturday of October (October 3rd this year) we will be exploring some wonderful homes, built to be green and sustainable. You will see posts throughout August and September on our social media all about the wonderful featured homes this year, check it out! We also have a lovely expo/reception in the evening and an EV car show throughout the day. This year we are excited to have the expo at the Golden Events center. Grab a friend and join us!

The superb Duff home is our next featured sustainable home from this years Metro Denver Green Homes Tour! This all electric home is beautiful inside and out! The next wonderful house on our Metro Denver Green Homes Tour on Saturday October 3rd is the Kantola-Wallace home in Littleton! This 1935 home and land has been renovated to live “with the land” with an expanded PV system, home battery system, double and triple pane windows throughout the home, improved home envelope and many more energy efficiency features throughout the home. Don't miss their year-round greenhouse!

The stunning Stamps family newer build home in Golden is worth seeing in person on our Metro Denver Green Homes Tour this year on Saturday October 3rd!

This home was started in 2014 with a passive-solar design on the side of North Table Mountain. This home includes a 2.9 kW solar panel system and advanced heating and cooling technology provided by the home's heat pump and heat recovery system.

Meet us and at the New Terrain Brewery in Golden next Tuesday August 18th at 6pm to hear from Briana Selstad Bosch, the founder of Blossom and Branch Farm, a two-acre microfarm in Colorado that uses organic and regenerative processes to grow flowers and native plants that provide habitat for wildlife and pollinators. She teaches regenerative gardening in workshops online and in person, and shares her content with her audience . She is the also the author of the book The Regenerative Gardener’s Handbook.
