We are saddened to share about the passing of a longtime friend of the YouthWorks family, Misty Drake.

Misty began her journey with YouthWorks in summer 2011 and joined full-time staff in 2014. For more than 10 years, she served faithfully, bringing her commitment to excellence, passion for people, and desire to honor the Lord through her calling to ministry. Misty left a deep and profound impact on staff, volunteers, and communities alike, radiating Christ's love to all she encountered. Her life truly was ministry. Even after her time at YouthWorks, she continued as a chaplain to those experiencing the hardest moments in life. She will be deeply missed within YouthWorks and beyond, but we rest assured knowing that her legacy lives on.

It’s so much more than a trip. The goal of getting students and young adults to serve isn’t about a one time event. It’s about launching them into a lifestyle that’s oriented around Christ-centered hospitality, service, and justice.

Abby is a life launched! The important work she does with The Salvation Army impacts people in her community every day. Her passion for loving her neighbors is something we hope to see in every young person who serves with YouthWorks!
