In honor of Healthy Vision Month. 🤓😎

May is Healthy Vision Month, so here are 6 tips to keep your eyes safe and healthy all year long:

1. Schedule regular eye exams: This allows you to discuss concerns with a specialist and can help catch problems early.

2. Practice good eye hygiene to prevent infection: This includes washing your hands regularly especially when putting them near our eyes, removing makeup before bed, and taking care of contact lenses.

3. Eat well and exercise regularly: Staying active is an important part of overall health, and eating well provides your body (including your eyes) with important nutrients.

4. Wear sunglasses to protect against UV rays: Prolonged UV exposure raises the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration, so wearing sunglasses can reduce that risk.

5. Use safety eyewear to protect your eyes from chemicals and debris: approximately 2000 people hurt their eyes every day while working. Safety glasses can protect your eyes from harmful particles and chemicals.

6. Prevent eye strain by limiting blue-light and screen time: Eye strain can lead to a number of other issues such as headaches, blurry vision, and dry eyes. Lower your risk by limiting screen time and taking regular screen breaks.
