Homestead Glen Spey faculty have had an incredible week back team building and preparing spaces and lessons for students to arrive on Thursday! This year our teaching and learning mantra is Resilient, Inclusive Homesteading. We learned from Pam Shanks, author of The Montessori Approach to Classroom-Based Interventions, gathered at Koinonia Nature Camp with our CCHS colleagues, and engaged in a humbling self-portrait art class from our very own Linda to experience the value of observation as a core Montessori practice.

We had an amazing time at the Homestead Family & Me program yesterday! Families listened to a story, met our baby goats Cosmo & Bella, took a hike, created nature art and had a picnic!

These programs are free for the entire community to come and enjoy. Join our next one on Monday August 3rd: Story Time in the Garden and Wednesday August 5th: Farm to Table.

Homestead Family & Me Programs, connecting parents, children and nature

We had so much fun at the Family & Me Program today! Join us next week for a nature hike and nature art. This program is free to the community, all ages are welcome but suggested age is toddler+. Planning to attend Stream Exploration & Play?
- wear a bathing suit
- bring a change of clothing
- wear water shoes
- bring a towel
- apply sunscreen at home & bring to reapply
- feel free to bring a snack/ packed lunch
- all children must be monitored by a participating adult caregiver

Our 6 week Summer Session for students age 3-12 has just begun. From archery and creating pinecone bird feeders to meeting our playful baby goats, our summer session students are spending their days exploring, creating, and connecting with nature on our Glen Spey campus. Hands-on learning, outdoor adventures, and plenty of summer fun!
