The bargaining team met with College administration on Thursday, July 23.

We made progress on articles related to defining categories of employees and grievance procedures. We are closer in agreement on the disciplinary process; which includes manner of discipline and right to representation in pre-disciplinary meetings.

We are happy to report, we finally received a response to our layoff and recall proposal. Prior to this session, the College had rejected our proposal and refused to include any language related to layoffs.

Our next bargaining session with administration is Thursday, August 20. The bargaining team will use the time until then to prepare our first economic proposals. Economics include; but are not limited to items such as wages, paid time off, hours of work, promotions, professional development, leave time, and insurance, as well as other benefits, protections, and fair working conditions.

Power has been restored to College of DuPage’s Physical Education Center (PEC), Culinary and Hospitality Center (CHC) and McAninch Arts Center (MAC). Afternoon classes are in session today, Wednesday, July 29. Culinary noon class will proceed as scheduled. The PEC pool remains closed.

Additionally, the PEC pool and Chaparral Fitness are closed during this time. For more information, visit cod.edu.
