Pack 367

Cub Scout Pack 367 (New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church) We serve the Pottsgrove, and Boyertown area school districts. in the Church’s Sunday school area.

Pack 367 is in the Continental District and Cradle of Liberty council; the program for elementary boys and girls is called Cub Scouts and is part of the nationally acclaimed BSA. All Packs have a Chartered Organization, which acts as a ‘sponsor’; ours is the New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania. The Church has been our Chartered Organization continuously since 195

0, for which we are truly grateful. The Pack is made up of children in grades K-5 and volunteer parent leadership. Each grade of boys and girls has their own den/rank for program advancement in character, leadership, citizenship, emergency preparedness, religion, nature, hobbies, sports, and wilderness camping skills/nature. Scouts work during the school year to complete their rank emblem requirements known as “adventures” by the end of the school year. Den meetings are generally held weekly during the school year on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. Den Meetings usually last about an hour. The Pack is run by BSA registered and clearance certified Parent VOLUNTEER Leaders; those volunteers comprise the Pack committee and Pack den leaders who run cub scouts. Our Pack has activities planned all year around; however, our weekly den meetings are not scheduled from late spring to late summer. We have activities such as pinewood derby racing, haunted hayrides, trunk or treat, food drives, Christmas caroling, hiking, community service, holiday celebrations, pool parties, baseball games and more! We LOVE to family camp and attend Musser summer camp; we usually will have 3 pack camping trips, plus a special Arrow of Light Den camping week-end all to themselves (and leaders of course). It has been a whirlwind of events this winter and early spring for our Pack. From Pinewood Derby, to the AOL Crossover, deep into the mountains at Crystal Cave, and some very deserved leadership awards-- these Scouts have been busy!

Even though this Scouting year is quickly coming to an end, we still have a calendar full of events. Stay tuned to see what these Cubs are up to next!

Happy Friday, Scouters! The annual Pinewood Derby is tomorrow! Here are some important notes:

We'll be setting up the track tonight. If you want to get the weights dialed in and give the track a test run, tonight is the night. Some adults in the Pack have also made cars and will be racing tonight to help set up the race software and get everything ready for the big day tomorrow. Be sure to check the GroupMe for important reminders and please message me (Matt) directly if you need any help. I'll have tools, (a very limited amount of) weights, glue, and graphite tonight, so if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask.

I've spent the last 2 months 3D printing and assembling these trophies and display pieces for the Scouts, so here's a sneak peek at what you can expect your Scouts to come home with this weekend. This is one of our biggest, most memorable events, so this year we're providing something great that'll display the car for years to come.

Troop 367 will also be running the snack bar and if you'd like to donate anything for sale, please let me know ASAP so we can be prepared and make room for it. Bring some cash for snacks, as all proceeds 100% benefit Scouting.

Don't forget that the annual Pinewood Derby is coming up on February 7th-- that's only two weeks to get your cards in order and ready for race day! We've been so busy this December! From ice skating, to holiday parties, to caroling with the seniors, our Pack has been moving and grooving. The Scouts have all received their Pinewood Derby kits from the big guy himself and are preparing for our next big event.

From all of us at Pack 367, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year! Be safe and enjoy the holidays, and you'll be seeing more of us soon!
