What’s a 250th celebration without some hand cast eagles? I just finished a few of our large limited edition cast aluminum pieces. These are 24” across and a great statement piece. Also, fair warning this will probably be the last year that I’m making them…so if you want one, now’s the time! Oh, and we also put our eagle on our very patriotic hat! In case you wondered what a controlled burn on Little Round Top might look like, we ran out and snapped a few pics for you. I suppose in someways, it looks a lot like it did in July 1863. We tried to get some different vantage points (PA Monument, 1st Minnesota, Peach Orchard, Emmitsburg Rd., Wheatfield Rd.) and there are a few more in the comments. 👍🔥

In case you see smoke rising from Little Round Top tomorrow…don’t worry, it’s not a reenactment you missed. 😁. Please be thoughtful if you are out and about the Battlefield tomorrow.

Park staff will conduct a prescribed fire at Little Round Top and Munshower Field, weather permitting, tomorrow, April 8. To ensure visitor and firefighter safety, multiple roads and trails will be closed and will remain closed until all safety protocols are met.
