CN Ministries

CN Ministries CN Ministries (CNM - Christ's Nutrition Ministries) is a faith based program; with the roots of it be Both programs are working together in Placerville, CA.

In January, 2011, CNM made contact with The Faith Program and the Community Resource Center (CRC). to feed the homeless on a regular schedule, along with providing shelter during the winter. Because they are helping our homeless, it only makes sense to help their cause. The Faith program is doing daily feeding and rotating shelters. The shelters consist of four churches and one ranch; these shelte

rs are only open for use in the winter. As of April 1st 2011 the winter shelter closes for the summer. In Auburn they have a program called The Gathering Inn; it consists of four churches that house the homeless. These programs have stringent rules that must be followed. CNM knows these rules are in place for good reasons, but because of these rules some homeless unfortunately fall through the cracks and miss out on services. CNM makes a special effort to serve those that may have fallen through those cracks and may be under served by other ministries. When CNM is out looking for homeless, the first thing we ask is "are you hungry?", and if the answer is yes, CNM feeds them. People all need to eat. Starting March 1st, 2011, CNM has joined with the Faith program in Placerville to be part of their feeding schedule. As CNM’s part of the schedule, we will be assisting the Faith program feeding the homeless every 1st, 3rd, and 4th Tuesdays, and the 2nd Wednesday, of the coming months. Additionally, The Divide Food Basket has granted us some monies and product, but we are always looking for more funding and donations. In 2010 we were serving 10-15 homeless, depending on the day and town. Now, we will be serving 25-35 on each day we are on the schedule with the Faith program.

On Dec. 20 the Divide Christmas Food Basket (DCFB) had another successful food distribution. This letter is to acknowledge the great volunteers and organizations who put their heart into the annual event. DCFB is sending a huge ‘Thank you’ to the many businesses and organizations who made this happen. Thanks to David Justice for taking over the DCFB this year. Thanks to the Georgetown Divide Rotary Club whose members spend hours at their annual Christmas in April collecting funds for DCFB. Thanks to MarVal, Holiday Market, Feeding the Foothills (formerly Placer Food Bank), El Dorado Disposal for food donations and the donation of the trash can, the churches including Georgetown United Methodist, Trinity Lutheran, New Hope Community, St. James Catholic, House of Prayer, Cool Community, Mother Lode, Kelsey Bible, and Calvary Chapel. Thanks to all the volunteers. Without the help from volunteers the event would not exist. Thanks to all the locations who collected the toys, the Toys for Tots program, the canned food drives at Georgetown School, Golden Sierra High School and Northside. Thanks to Kat Mendenhall for the press releases in the Georgetown Gazette and Town Crier. A big thanks to Georgetown Fire, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department and the volunteer from the United States Department of Forestry, for their part in making the day work well.
And last but not least thanks to the wonderful Divide community who steps up and gives to make sure that those in the community are taken care of.
