The secret’s out: it’s The Million Dollar Scoop!

We had a blast celebrating our local nonprofits and sharing $1.1 million in grants going right back into our community!

The cherry on top? A special collab with local ice cream shop Downstairs Ice Cream! Meet The Million Dollar Scoop, a rich (literally!) masterpiece loaded with plenty of dough (cookie dough, that is), golden caramel, and a sprinkle of gold glitter. Every bite is worth its weight in gold!

Want a taste? The Million Dollar Scoop is available at Downstairs Ice Cream for the month of November only. Trust us, it’s worth every penny!

Congratulations again to all of our 2026 Grant Recipients, and thank you to Downstairs Ice Cream for helping us celebrate in the sweetest way possible.

Today’s the big day! Our 2026 Grant Celebration is here!

We’re celebrating all of our 2026 Grant Recipients and the incredible work they do every single day. We’re so proud to support local nonprofits that, each in their own way, are working to improve the lives of those who call Gaston County home.

And we have a very special treat in store for our nonprofits... Can you guess what it is from the hints?

Drop your guesses in the comments! The big reveal is tomorrow. 👇

What a night at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Gastonia!

Our Next Gen members had a blast spending the evening with the kids. More than 50 volunteers decorated pumpkins, played GAGA ball, and shared dinner. The smiles (and the pumpkin masterpieces) said it all!

A huge thank-you to our amazing sponsors for helping make it possible:
New Hope Wealth Management of Raymond James
Gaston Sheet Metal
Tindol Ford

This is what Next Gen is all about: working together to make a difference right here in Gaston County. We can’t wait for the next one!

Don’t forget, our fall social is Nov. 6 from 6- 8 PM, Tailgate Edition!

It’s one of our favorite times of the year: grant season!

Kicking things off is the Mount Holly Farmers Market, and it’s so much more than a market! Along with fresh, local goods, they run programs that support local farmers and help families using EBT and WIC get access to fresh, healthy food. 🥕💚

We love seeing organizations that strengthen our local economy and make sure everyone in our community has access to fresh produce.

Introducing Woven Into Gaston!

“Let’s not go on vacation. Let’s see if we can find a place to open a museum.” Dot Guthrie

That’s the kind of vision and commitment that makes Gaston County a better place, and it’s the heart of the very first story in our new series, Woven Into Gaston!

Meet Mrs. Dot Guthrie: retired librarian, former school board member, and now Executive Director of the African American Museum. In this episode, she shares how a bold idea became a place where our community’s history is preserved, celebrated, and shared for generations to come.

Stories like Dot’s are exactly why we created Woven Into Gaston. They reflect our mission to inspire generosity, uplift nonprofits, and connect donors with the needs of our community. Thank you, Mrs. Guthrie, for your dedication, and thank you to our fundholders and the donors who help make this work possible.

Checking in on Mr. Grant Worthy!

Grant has been keeping watch at Daniel Stowe Conservancy, keeping the crows away and greeting visitors this fall. He’s grateful to Daniel Stowe Conservancy for preserving the beautiful green spaces and trails that make Gaston County such a special place to explore.

Voting is still open, so stop by to see Grant and all the creative scarecrows on display. Whoever takes home the prize, in our book, Gaston County is the real winner. 🍂

Harvey, our building mascot, has officially been treated like the very good boy he is.

Harvey got his paws on a custom treat from Arin's Good Girl Dog Treats, and let's just say he's taken his role as Chief Snack Inspector very seriously. Verdict: two paws up, no crumbs left behind.

Did you know Arin's will personalize dog treats for just about anything?
Your business logo (clients' pups will love you)
Your dog's birthday ("pawty" invites optional)
Any reason to spoil your favorite four-legged friend

Arin's is about more than all-natural treats. They're also about inclusion. As Arin's shares, "With 79% of adults with disabilities facing unemployment, we create work environments where people can bring their abilities to the table."
That's a mission we're proud to celebrate.
