🇺🇸 18 days and counting to our country’s 250th birthday! 🇺🇸

Need more inspiration that our youth understands and appreciates our Constitution?

Look no further than Hugh Sproul, who earned 2nd Place in our America 250 Essay Contest, proudly sponsored by the Major William Chronicle Chapter, NCSDAR!

It is encouraging to see young people studying our nation’s founding principles and reflecting on the freedoms secured by our Founding Fathers. Hugh’s achievement reminds us that the ideals enshrined in the Constitution continue to inspire the next generation of Americans.

Ladies, there are still tickets available for the 18th Century Cosmetic Workshop at the Museum of Charlotte!

I know many DAR ladies enjoy dressing in period attire for events, and it is certainly a lot of fun. However, getting it right is important. When we step into these roles, we are also educating the public. It is more than attending a costume party, we are honoring the men and women who came before us, and we owe it to them to represent their lives as accurately as possible.

Authenticity brings history to life. The more we learn about the clothing, customs, and daily lives of the 18th century, the better we can share that history with others.

This workshop offers a fun opportunity to learn about 18th century cosmetics while enjoying drinks and appetizers. I hope you’ll consider attending for an evening of learning, fellowship, and a little historical glamour!

The Charlotte Museum of History interprets and preserves Charlotte's unique history.

20 days and counting until our nation’s 250th birthday!

Today, we are proud to share the wise words of Addison Royall, First Place winner of the America 250 Essay Contest sponsored by our chapter.

Her thoughtful reflection on the United States Constitution reminds us that the principles of liberty, self government, and individual rights remain as important today as they were at our nation’s founding. It gives us great faith in the future to see that the next generation not only understands these enduring principles, but is also willing to uphold and defend them.

🇺🇸 21 days until America’s 250th Birthday! 🇺🇸

When you drive through a neighborhood and see American flags proudly displayed, does it give you a sense of pride?

As we count down to our nation’s 250th birthday, let’s fill social media with a show of patriotism and appreciation for our country.

Share a photo of the American flag flying at your home in the comments. Let’s inspire others to display Old Glory and celebrate 250 years of American history, freedom, and opportunity.

One nation. One flag. 250 years. 🇺🇸

22 days to go until OUR country’s 250th Birthday!

Every person has a different journey. Different experiences. Different struggles. Different perspectives.

We don’t have to agree on everything to recognize each other’s humanity.

As we celebrate 250 years of America, may we choose understanding over division, conversation over condemnation, and respect over resentment.

That’s a birthday gift worthy of our nation.
