OBEDIENCE OF THE HEART
Paul wrote that the believers in Rome were obedient with all their heart. But obeying what God says is not just a matter of putting on a show, but a matter of having the right attitude. Obedience is more than a spiritual obligation as well, it is a spiritual opportunity! Your obedience to God will ultimately be rewarded. Obedience sows the seeds necessary to bring other blessings into your life,
inner peace, a closer relationship with Him, and divine guidance.
God is so good.

But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed.
Romans 6:17

Heavenly Father,
May the truth of Your Word take deep root in my heart, producing an authentic obedience and an outflow of godliness through the power of the Holy Spirit. Help me to walk in this new life every single day to Your glory.

THE EVER PRESENT HOLY SPIRIT
The good news is that because God knows us intimately and knows everything about us, he already knows what we need before we express it. The genius of the gospel is that we don't need to have the right words or say exactly what we need to express. the Holy Spirit’s love and omniscience carries our requests to His ears. Isn’t it nice to know we don’t have to have it all together to have an intimate relationship with God?
Even if we cannot feel his presence, we can take comfort in knowing he is with us, knows exactly what we need, and his Spirit intercedes for us.

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 8:26-27

Precious Lord,
Thank You that the Holy Spirit is interceding for me right now, with sorrows which cannot be uttered. Take the inner yearnings of my heart and beautify them. I pray, that every breath in my lungs and every beat of my heart glorifies you.

THE JOY OF BLESSINGS
Too often in our lives, our happiness is not self-contained. Rather, it’s depends on good things happening. We convince ourselves that if we could just meet the right person or if we could just own the object of our desires, then we would be happy. Until those things happen, our happiness is on hold.
But being blessed is a different concept altogether. Blessings depend on God. They don’t ebb and flow based on circumstances or moods. You can experience God’s blessings regardless of what’s happening in your life. You can be blessed in even the worst circumstances.
If you’re a child of God, then know this: God loves to bless His children. In fact, God wants to bless you even more than you want to be blessed.

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."
Numbers 6:24–26

"Gracious Lord,
I thank You for Your word.

JOY IN EVERY SITUATION
Your heavenly Father has a compassionate heart for the problems you face. He never wants you to act or try and drum up faith that everything will be all right. He wants to meet you at the core of your trial and fill you with abundant joy that’s rooted in Him alone. He wants to guide you through the tough seasons of life that try and rob you of your joy. He wants to make your faith steadfast and sure so you can meet the tribulations of this world head-on with joy. Run to your Heavenly Father today with every weight and problem that is holding you down.

Those who sow in tears
shall reap with shouts of joy!
He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
Psalm 126:5-6

Gracious Lord,
I hold onto your promise that those who sow in tears will reap in joy. Help me to trust in your timing and to continue to sow seeds of faith, even when it feels difficult. Thank you for your faithfulness and for the joy that you bring.

UNDER THE CARE OF THE SHEPHERD
David knew sheep better than anyone. He had grown up tending to them. I imagine he knew each one by name. He’d been a shepherd his entire life, out in the open with the flock, driving anything away that threatened them. He walked ahead of them to find the water they needed. When David calls the Lord his shepherd, he knows he cannot make himself rest and needs Someone to do it for him. Those sheep don’t think about discovering green pastures. They aren’t strategizing to find the best water. The shepherd is the one going ahead. Handling the problems in advance and settling the flock. All the sheep have to do is trust the one in charge.
Your Shepherd knows every issue in your heart, and you can trust the One in charge

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Psalm 23: 1-3

Lord,
Help me recognize that rest is not something I have to accomplish.
You are walking ahead of me. You already know where the quiet waters are. Free me from the things that won’t leave me alone and let me lie down in the green pastures You’ve prepared for me. Lord, refresh my soul.

PATH TO FULFILLMENT
God brought the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, leading them to the land promised to their forefathers. But when they got to the Red Sea, with the Egyptians pursuing them, they began to regret the day they left Egypt, because of some obstacles.
When the path to fulfilling my God-given dream becomes challenging in ways I don't expect, I learn that just because God calls me to something doesn’t mean it will be easy. And just because I hit a roadblock along the way doesn’t mean it’s the end of the road. God makes a way where there seems to be no way. Through it all, I have learned that God is faithful and that God is worthy of my trust.

They said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt?
Exodus 14:11

Precious Lord,
thank you for calling me to this divine purpose. Help me to lean on you for strength and guidance along this journey. Allow me to see your grace and your mercy in daily living.

INTO THE FIRE
King Nebuchadnezzar threw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into a blazing furnace after they wouldn’t bow down before him, all we’re told in scripture is the king himself sees Jesus, not the boys. The king, the one standing outside the fire, is the one who proclaims, “‘Look! I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods" If you’re in the fire today and you’re having trouble seeing Jesus, don’t get discouraged. It may not seem like it, but Jesus will shield you. His presence will protect you. He will sustain your hope. So, don’t look at the fire today Instead, look to Jesus, as the flames rage around you.

He answered and said, “But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”
Daniel 3:25

Heavenly Father,
Thank You that whatever has kept me bound in the past has lost its grip because Your Son defeated the enemy on the cross and has brought me into freedom. Thank You that my hands are no longer tied. I believe that the fourth man has set me free from the torment of the flames.

UNHEALING FORGIVENESS
Most of us know David as the shepherd boy who defeated Goliath and became king of Israel. But between those milestones, David became the target of King Saul’s murderous jealousy. God Himself sought David as a man after His own heart. If David could pray honestly, admitting the anger, anguish, and even the desire for revenge, why do we believe we have to pretend we don’t feel the way we feel? Pain that isn’t fully processed doesn’t disappear just because we forgive. Instead, it gets suppressed. So what would happen if you externalized your pain by expressing it honestly to the God who already knows exactly how you feel?
You aren’t wrong for feeling hurt, and God wants to help you heal. Start by getting honest with Him.

You have seen, O Lord; be not silent! O Lord, be not far from me!
Psalm 35:22

Heavenly Father,
You see everything I am going through right now. When I feel overwhelmed or forgotten, help me trust that Your eyes see the truth and Your hands will bring justice and comfort in Your perfect time.
