I’ve been thinking a lot lately about all the ways our familiars show up in our lives. As I’m laying in a great amount of pain from some stupid cervical spine injury, I have a baby Skunk so precious and innocent, insisting on laying on the side of my body that the pain is on. I bet you he’s trying to heal me. He’s already healed a great part of my soul, you know the part that died when my angel Valentyne left this world? Gazing down at absolute love, I noticed how they never carry yesterday with them. Valentyne never did Peekaboo never did and now Archii never does. They never rehearse tomorrow. When they wanna play or it’s dinner time they are pure aliveness. No story on whether they’re good enough deserving or worthy to get the love they receive. No shame about anything. And even when they do something wrong and get slightly scolded or redirected, the moment passes and it’s gone. No residue no suffering self no defending or evaluating. These babies just are. They are pure, absolute beautifully unconditional love. We all need to learn from them.

🦨 REMEMBER NEW SKUNK OWNERS!!!!! 🦨 Veterinary care 👨‍⚕️is essential. It is a necessity!!! This is our geriatric skunk 🦨 Nuggy getting his follow up for his heart. ♥️ (7 1/2 years old) Heart issues are common with skunks. What was a sign that something potentially was wrong was non consistent intermittent coughing. ❤ It’s important to know your Skunk 🦨 because a change in behavior, energy levels, the amount of food 🍱 or water 💦 they’re taking in or bathroom 🚽 behaviors can potentially indicate a health problem. If your skunk🦨 is acting differently then get in with a vet 👩‍⚕️ that is KNOWLEDGEABLE and EXPERIENCED with skunks. ❤ The Vet pictured is Dr Riggs from Barberton animal Hospital. Our oldest and youngest skunks were at the vet today. The oldest was seen the baby was oogled. :)
