Today was nothing short of Amazing! With a total of 36 students in attendance today our lesson was centered around the Safer Together Program through City of Columbus Office of Violence Prevention. We had group discussion around the “5 D’s of Bystander Intervention,” a practical framework for safely and effectively stepping in when you witness harassment or harm. Adapted from Right To Be, it outlines five clear strategies: Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay, and Direct that empower community members to take action while prioritizing their own safety and the dignity of others. Our activities were based on learning one another and what we all have in common. The students were active and engaged with our lesson and activities. For dinner students enjoyed Biggie Bags from Wendy's along with Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty's and a take home snack bag with goodies. We can't wait for next week.
