Our Northmor FFA Urban Soils Team was up bright and early Saturday morning to travel to Ross County for the State Soils Contest!

The team placed 31st in the state, led by Fletcher G., who placed 35th overall individually, followed by Ben B., Lane M., and Brevyn B.

We are proud of these members for their hard work and dedication throughout the soils season! Great job! 💙💛

On Friday, Northmor FFA members competed at the County Forestry Contest! 🌳

Students put their forestry knowledge to the test by completing a written exam, compass course, tree diameter calculations, a 16-foot saw log scoring sheet, tool identification, and leaf identification.

Congratulations to Northmor’s top scorers: Austin K., Tate P., Brady C., and Brody B.! We are proud of our members for continuing to build their skills and knowledge in natural resources.

A special thank you to the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District for hosting this contest!

Yesterday, 17 Northmor FFA members spent the day giving back at the Perry Cook Community Garden!

Our members planted 30 arborvitae trees to create a natural privacy hedge around the garden space. They also helped prepare the garden for winter, transplanted plants, weeded flower beds, and tackled several other projects around the garden.

We are thankful for the opportunity to work alongside the Perry Cook Memorial Library and Perry Cook Community Garden through our Ohio FFA Foundation Chapter Success Grant, funded by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

We’re proud of our members for putting in the time and hard work to help improve a space that serves our community! 💙💛

On Friday, a small group of our FFA members competed at the Morrow County Soils Contest!

Our urban team was led by Brevyn B., followed by Ben B., Fletcher G., Natori C., Lane M., and Natalie N.

Our ag team was led by Austin K., followed by Jason C. and Cash M.

We are proud of these members for putting in the time to learn and practice soil judging!

A very special thank you to the Morrow County Soil and Water Conservation District Office for their help with hosting the contest and supporting our FFA members!

District 2 Soils Contest!

On Wednesday, our FFA members competed in the District 2 Soils Contest!

Our Urban Soils team placed 5th, earning a spot at the State Contest on October 10! The team was led by Fletcher G., followed by Brevyn B., Natori C., Lane M., and Ben B.

Our Ag Soils team placed 7th, led by Kallie W., who placed 6th overall individually! Team members included Elizabeth R., Austin K., Brody B., Josie S., and Whitney B.

We are proud of our members for their hard work and great attitudes, especially with the cold and rainy conditions and such a quick turnaround since the start of school! 🌱

🌲 Yesterday, several of our first-year FFA members competed in their first FFA contest at District Forestry!

Members tested their forestry skills by measuring trees for logging, identifying trees by their leaves and bark, completing a compass course, reading a map, and identifying forestry equipment.

Our team finished 7th in the district, which is a great accomplishment considering they only had a few school days to practice! We are so proud of the hard work and effort they put in.

A special shoutout to Emery G. for leading our team! Great job, members! 🌲💙💛
