A look back at the opening reception of Bound Together: The Craft of Bookmaking! 📖

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this special exhibition at the Hunt Branch Library!

Created by the Fullerton Museum Center as a satellite exhibition, Bound Together: The Craft of Bookmaking brings the museum’s work beyond its galleries and into the community, making local history, art, and cultural learning accessible to new audiences.

Curated by FMC Creative Supervisor Shay Jones and Museum Coordinator Jozef Chavez, the exhibition explores the evolution of bookmaking and the intricate craftsmanship behind the printed word, from the history of printing to the art of bookbinding.

A special thank you to the International Printing Museum for generously sharing the objects that help bring this history to life, and to the Fullerton Library Foundation and Hunt Branch Library for their support in making this collaboration possible!

Haven’t seen it yet? The exhibition is free to the public and on view through January 7, 2027!

🕑 Hunt Library Branch Hours:
Tuesday–Thursday: 10 AM–4 PM
Every third Saturday of the month: 9 AM–3 PM
Monday, Friday, and Sunday: Closed

In Loving Memory of Lorraine Turissini ❤️

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved friend, Board Member, longtime docent, and devoted supporter of the Fullerton Museum Center, Lorraine Turissini, who passed away yesterday morning.

Lorraine was so much more than a member of our Board. She was part of our Museum family. She loved FMC, and she especially loved our staff. She celebrated their work, showed up for them, encouraged them, and always made sure they knew how much they were appreciated. Her warmth, kindness, wonderful smile, and genuine love for this Museum and its people will be deeply missed.

Lorraine gave so generously of her time and heart—as a docent, Board Member, volunteer, advocate, and friend. Her years of service touched countless visitors, staff members, volunteers, the FMCA Board, and members of our greater Fullerton community.

We are grateful that Lorraine was recognized as a Woman of the Year for the City of Fullerton City Council Member Amhad Zahra, an honor so fitting for someone who gave so much of herself to the community she loved.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her beloved husband, Tony, and the entire Turissini family as they mourn this tremendous loss.

Rest in peace, dear Lorraine. Thank you for loving our Museum, our staff, your fellow board members, and our community so well.

You will always be part of the FMC family. ❤️
