Yesterday, we said goodbye to our beloved therapy horse, Murphy. Her passing was sudden and our hearts are heavy, but today we choose to honor the extraordinary life she lived.
Murphy was a healer, teacher, and a quiet anchor for so many of our riders. With her calm spirit she helped children and young adults find confidence, balance, independence, and moments of peace. She had a way of listening without words and offering comfort simply by being near.
For more than a decade, Murphy helped shape Tara’s Chance into the place it is today. Her legacy lives in every child who sat a little taller, breathed a little deeper, spoke a new word, or believed in themselves for the very first time.
We are heartbroken, but we are grateful. Grateful for her years of service, for the love she gave, and for the lives she transformed. We are also grateful for the Murphy Family Foundation which has lovingly cared for Murphy for over a decade though the many health struggles she has had. Murphy will forever be a part of Tara’s Chance, woven into our story and into the hearts of all who knew her.
