Regardless of your role in the foster care community, we all experience stress and hardships along the way. When this occurs, we need comfort and encouragement to keep going. That may come from a friend, mentor, the foster parents to the child, or the case worker to the biological parents.

To celebrate Foster Care Awareness month, we are spotlighting foster families in our community. Meet the Cheiklards!

It took us two full years to say yes to fostering. We had been feeling the call from God but were full of doubt. Were we capable? Even down to the moment before saying yes to our first placement, we were wondering if we were strong enough. But a friend and former foster parent happened to call at that moment and offer words of encouragement. God’s timing was incredible. We realized we are not strong enough, but God is. We are now over two years into our fostering journey and we are so glad we finally said yes!
