High Hope Freeport builds a safer, more connected Freeport by addressing community violence through youth engagement, mentoring, education, support services, and entrepreneurship—while linking High Hope areas to resources and supporting the impacted. tiatives, trauma-informed care, and mentorship. HHF’s mission is to support the transformation of high-hope areas, connecting those areas to meaningful resources, and enhancing social consciousness through activism. HHF engages directly with the community to reduce violence through working directly in neighborhoods, connecting individuals to programs and services, providing mediation, mentoring, and support for individuals impacted by violence, and creating positive relationships and fostering peacebuilding activities at the neighborhood level As a boots-on-the-ground organization, we implement anti-gun violence programs and initiatives that directly address the needs of our community, providing education, resources, and healing to those affected by gun violence. Through partnerships, outreach, and active engagement, we work tirelessly to create a safer, more peaceful Freeport where every resident can thrive without fear of violence.

A big thank you to the young people of Hope WINS and young people of the community who showed up for Beautify the Block at Chicago & Frank and helped make a difference in the neighborhood. Your effort, your energy, and your willingness to show up matter more than words can say. You are helping lead the way and showing what community pride looks like in action.

We also want to give a special shoutout to the Pretzel Pickers Holly, team, young people of the community and community members for coming out and being a part of the work. Thank you for helping us care for the block and helping us continue building peace, pride, and connection in the community.

Now let’s keep it going — join us today for the Resource Block Party at Chicago & Frank from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Come out, bring your family, invite a neighbor, and connect with resources, support, and positive community energy.
