We want to be very clear here. The VFW hosts a group that runs a food pantry every Wednesday, but it is not ours. We have no control over who shows up and/or who takes how much food. We give them a place that is warm/cool and dry so they can distribute food donations to members of our community.
If you show up here and there isn't enough food for you, or you see someone walking out with multiple bags, there are two things that we suggest. First, do NOT say you are disappointed with the VFW food pantry. Speak with the folks who run it and have a conversation, don't make us look bad out of hand.
The other thing is, show up when it opens, not thirty minutes after. Not saying that is ideal, but early bird gets the worm. If you have a real need, reach out to the VFW directly and we can try to help. We do way too much good for Veterans, families, and community members to have our name sullied on FB. Thank you.
