Our Kiwanis Bring Up Grades (BUG) program encourages kids to perform their best in school. Our award includes a BUG pin, a certificate, and a gel pen ... as long as they bring up one grade. At the end of the year we give them ice cream too! We honored kids at Mountainside Elementary on Ft Carson this week. Great work kids!

Thanks to the City of Fountain, Peaks N Pine Brewery, Fountain UP, and many other sponsors and participants who came out Saturday to the Kiwanis Checkered Flag Charity Car Show at Metcalfe Park - a big success. Lot's of fun with a live band, food trucks, ice cream, cool cars, and the nicest people in the world. Thank you Fountain Valley for supporting our kids!.

A big shout out to the Ute Pass – Woodland Park Kiwanis for hosting their 28th “Crabby Tax Night.” Some of our Fountain Valley Kiwanis supported their event and certainly ate our share of crab. It was nice to see our good friend and former KI President, Bert West, there helping. We also got a chance to collect more sheets, and girls clothing for donation to the Guatemalan orphanage we’re supporting. It was a wonderful evening.

Our team of Fountain and Colorado Springs Kiwanis fed over 300 kids and family members at Fountain Mesa Park this morning. We served hotdogs to a lot of great kids and family members at junior flag football today. Thanks to everyone who came out to make these kids a little happier.

Our quarterly Aga Park clean-up was a breeze today. The community takes pride in keeping their park near immaculate. We are honored to contribute to Fountain’s Parks and Rec by adopting this beautiful park. After the clean-up everyone talked about how beautiful the day was, and it good to get out in the fresh morning air and spend time in the park.

Kiwanian Rosa McCormick took the “Polar Plunge” yesterday to raise money for the Special Olympics. The Polar Plunge is one of the biggest fundraisers for Special Olympics. All funds raised by Plungers help Special Olympics Colorado provide year-round training and services to thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state. Thank you to Rosa, Teresa Vieira/Peaks N Pines Brewery, and our Fountain Valley Kiwanis donors who contributed $1000 for this great cause.
