What an afternoon at Aiken Polo Club. 🐎

Galloping for Glory brought this community together for polo, Southern hospitality and a cause bigger than the game. None of it happens without the sponsors who stepped up for our Green Berets and their families.

Thank you for a great afternoon supporting America's Best. Your generosity goes straight to the Special Forces community, the operators and the families who stand beside them.

To everyone who came out, raised a glass and cheered from the sidelines: thank you. We'll see you on the field next year.

MEDAL OF HONOR MONDAY | Phuoc Long Province, Vietnam — 21 March 1967

SFC Charles Hosking was advising a CIDG reaction company when his element captured a Viet Cong sniper. As Hosking prepared the prisoner for movement, the man grabbed a gr***de from Hosking's belt, armed it, and ran toward the company command group, two Americans and two Vietnamese standing a few feet away.

Hosking leaped onto his back, locked him in a bear hug with the gr***de pinned to the enemy's chest, wrestled him to the ground, and covered him until it detonated. The blast killed them both. Every member of the command group survived.

Hosking enlisted in 1943 and jumped with the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion in Italy. In 1952 he joined the original 10th Special Forces Group, and he spent the next 15 years as a Green Beret. He was serving with Detachment A-302, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), when he was killed, and he was posthumously promoted to Master Sergeant.

His full citation is in the reel.

Never forgotten.
