Happy planting season!

Spirit Lake Food Distribution distributed seeds, seed potatoes, onion sets, and tomato plants to 195 households, reaching approximately 612 community members across our community.

We are grateful to support families in growing their own food and continuing the tradition of planting and harvesting. Wishing everyone a successful growing season and a bountiful harvest!

Our whipped honey L&L was a hit, the ladies enjoyed it! Class goals were to:

* Understand what creamed honey is
* Learn the nutritional benefits of honey
* Compare creamed honey to regular honey and other sweeteners
* Learn safe food handling and storage
* Taste and prepare simple healthy serving ideas

Also did cost comparison, the cost for whipped or cream honey is higher. You can make the same tasting creamy goodness right at home!
