TRIO Talent Search and CCCC Financial Aid is sponsoring a "FINANCIAL AID NIGHT" for all students/parents that plan on going to college in the Fall of 2014. It will be held on March 26, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at CCCC in rooms 116 & 117. Register in the Student Union. There will be PRIZES and refreshments.

ALSO, you can file your income taxes for FREE!!! Service is provided by Legal Services of North Dakota.

Bring these with you: Social Security number (student and parent), Alien registration card (if not U.S. citizen), 2012 Federal Tax Return and W2's (have student & parent tax returns filed 3 wks prior if possible), 2012 untaxed income records (veteran noneducation benefits, child support, worker's comp), Record of savings, investments and assets (student and parent), and your Driver's License (if any).

Come any time during event hours. Plan to stay about an hour to get your FAFSA completed! Click on the map above for specific time and location information.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY!!!!

Money Sen$e Conte$t

Are you a high school senior? Are you planning on attending college next year? Are you seeking scholarship dollars? Then you need to sign up for the 2013 Money Sen$e conte$t sponsored by the North Dakota Jump$tart Coalition! You could win $1,000 for College!!
Here’s how it works!
1. Send us a one-two minute video of “how to” use Money Sen$e. Select from one of three topics: “My Worst Money Mistake”, “Better Uses for Lunch Money” or “How to Grow $100” can be submitted!
2. Don’t be scared! It’s Easy! Use your smartphone or any video camera. You can either post to YouTube first…then email us a link. Or you can send the file as an attachment to your email.

3. Send your video entry by April 10 to the email address listed below. All entries will be displayed on the ND Jump$tart (www.ndjumpstart.org ) website and will be voted on by the public (tell your friends to vote!) April 15 through April 30. The winners with the most votes will be announced Wednesday, May 15.
4. The winner with the most votes will receive a $1,000 college scholarship.
Requirements/Guidelines:
• All applicants must be ND high school senior students who will be attending college in September of 2013.
• All applicants must provide a short 1-2 minute video relating to Money $ense. (Please introduce yourself in the video).
• The ND Jump$tart Board and/or Judging committee has the right to disqualify videos they deem unacceptable due to vulgarity or other inappropriate behaviors.
• Deadline for submissions is April 10.

*Open to ALL area students (grades 6-college)
Lunch will be served in the CCCC Cafeteria

US Senator Byron Dorgan, Center for Native American Youth Founder & Chairman will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have. Some examples are:

What’s it like to meet the President of the United States?
How cool is Will-I-Am from the Black Eyed Peas?
Why would someone serve in public office for 40 years?

Ask all these questions and tell Senator Dorgan and the Center for Native American Youth why you believe Native youth are important.
They want to hear from you!

All students that attend will have a chance to win Door Prizes!! They include: Technology Toys (iPod, iPad, Kindle Fire, etc.), Nike bags and more!!

College Goal Sunday is Coming Soon!!!
Seniors and returning college students sign up for Financial aid at Cankdeska Cikana College on March 25, 2012 from 2pm to 5pm.
Assistance will be provided, bring social security number; 2011 federal tax returns and W2's; record of savings, investments and assets; and drivers license.
Remember this is money to help pay for college and it is free. There will a drawing for a computer or $500 scholarship participating.
