Thank you for making the third annual Barrymore Film Center Jewish Film Festival such a meaningful and memorable experience! Over the course of the festival, audiences came together to explore stories that were deeply personal, historically illuminating, funny, moving, and unforgettable. Curated by David Schwartz and sponsored by Ed and Doris Cohen, the festival celebrated the richness of Jewish storytelling through films that examined family, identity, resilience, creativity, history, and humor.

This year’s lineup introduced us to remarkable mothers, hidden histories, legendary comedians, master spies, pioneering architects, and inspiring true stories.

We were especially honored to welcome so many filmmakers, authors, historians, and special guests for conversations and Q&As throughout the festival, including Marisa Fox, Gaylen Ross, Justin Schein, Joy Schein, Yael Melamede, David Margolick, Dr. Peter Chester, and Allen Frishman. Their insights brought these films to life in extraordinary ways and helped create a truly engaging community experience.

Thank you for being part of our community. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Barrymore soon for more special screenings, live events, and unforgettable cinematic experiences.

On Friday, June 19 at 7:30 PM, NYC vocalist, songwriter, and genre-defying performer J. Hoard brings his unmistakable sound to Barrymore for an intimate live performance.

J. Hoard moves effortlessly through soul, jazz, rock, hip hop, and beyond. His collaborations span Grammy-winning projects with Black Coffee (Subconsciously) and Chance the Rapper (Coloring Book), alongside artists including Meshell Ndegeocello, Brasstracks, Playboi Carti, Cultura Profética, and Kassa Overall.

With a voice originally shaped by gospel, sharpened by jazz harmony, and carried by raw emotional honesty, J. Hoard creates performances that feel deeply personal. Equal parts powerhouse concert and shared experience.

As The New York Times wrote:
“An exuberantly gifted young vocalist and songwriter who treats affirmation as an art form.”
